[00:15:00] great here at Summer Game Fest.
[00:15:02] I am one of your co-hosts, Malady Confetti.
[00:15:05] And hello, my name is Jax from season 15
[00:15:07] of RuPaul's Drag Race.
[00:15:08] Yes, now a little bit about me.
[00:15:11] I love natural girls, indie games,
[00:15:13] and I love my cozy hoppies.
[00:15:15] And I am your competitive cheerleading diva,
[00:15:18] which means I get just as competitive in my gaming.
[00:15:21] So bring on the games.
[00:15:23] Today we're celebrating queer creativity, queer developers,
[00:15:26] and the incredible games helping push this industry forward.
[00:15:29] This showcase is presented in partnership
[00:15:31] with the Gaming Foundation,
[00:15:32] an organization dedicated to uplifting LGBTQIA plus people
[00:15:36] all across gaming through mentorship,
[00:15:38] community programs, advocacy,
[00:15:40] and support of queer creators.
[00:15:42] Their work helps create more opportunities and visibility
[00:15:45] for queer developers, players, streamers, esports talent,
[00:15:49] and gaming communities around the world.
[00:15:52] And honestly, today is the perfect example
[00:15:54] of that mission in action.
[00:15:56] We've got an amazing lineup ahead
[00:15:58] featuring indie games, stylish action games,
[00:16:01] cozy adventures, horror mysteries, witches,
[00:16:03] detectives, drama, and so much more
[00:16:07] from queer creators and inclusive studios.
[00:16:10] And while we celebrate Pride Today,
[00:16:12] this showcase is also about recognizing
[00:16:14] that queer stories and queer talent
[00:16:16] belong in gaming all year round.
[00:16:18] But before we fully jump into the showcase,
[00:16:20] we wanna take a moment to spotlight
[00:16:21] the incredible organization helping make all of this possible.
[00:16:25] Let's take a closer look at the Gaming Foundation
[00:16:27] and the work they do to support queer people across gaming.
[00:16:30] Hi, I'm Hubert de Williams, Dan Bola,
[00:16:33] and I am part of the Gaming Foundation.
[00:16:35] I'm part of the organizing team
[00:16:38] for marketing and communications, action committee,
[00:16:41] and helping bring the gaming pride parade to life.
[00:16:44] So thank you all for joining.
[00:16:46] I've been in the industry myself for about 10 years.
[00:16:49] So being connected to the summer of gaming,
[00:16:52] Summer Game Fest is very special and important to me.
[00:16:56] What is the Gaming Foundation?
[00:16:58] So the Gaming Foundation's mission
[00:17:00] is to uplift and create opportunities,
[00:17:02] not only for queer gamers, but also for LGBTQIA professionals
[00:17:07] and communities around the world.
[00:17:08] And we do this through support, visibility,
[00:17:11] and really pushing for representation.
[00:17:14] How can people help?
[00:17:15] Actually, for those of you watching,
[00:17:16] you are already helping.
[00:17:18] So if you want to help some more,
[00:17:19] please share this showcase.
[00:17:21] It's on demand, do it on YouTube or socials,
[00:17:24] being of socials, follow Gaming Foundation across Instagram, Blue Sky, LinkedIn, your favorite social
[00:17:30] platform at GamingFDN, and that's G-A-Y-M-I-N-G-F-G-N. You can also visit our website at GamingFoundation.org.
[00:17:40] That website will really tell you how you can get involved, donate, and help our initiatives.
[00:17:45] So what's next for the Gaming Foundation? Next, we have a couple of new programs and events like
[00:17:51] the gaming awards on Monday after a summer game fest weekend, then you can watch that exclusively
[00:17:56] on World of Wonders Wild Percent Plus around the globe on Monday June 8th at 7pm. So tune in,
[00:18:03] and that really celebrates clear voices in gaming. We also have a Pride event, it's the Rainbow
[00:18:08] Race Pokemon fundraiser, and that's really has creators and competitive players supporting
[00:18:14] LGBTQ plus gamers. And this is just the beginning of something much bigger, so we can't wait to
[00:18:21] share more and have more, more art communities around the world.
[00:18:25] All right, let's kick things off with a game to ask one very important question.
[00:18:29] What if instead of fighting monsters in a dungeon, you flirt with them instead?
[00:18:33] Riz dungeons, Skeleton Key to My Heart is a chaotic, hilarious dungeon crawler from queer-owned
[00:18:38] indie studio, Snoozie Cazoo, where your greatest weapon is an sword.
[00:18:43] Hit your pickup lines. You play as Tappy, a hopelessly weak adventurer trying to win back
[00:18:47] her dangerously hot dragon ex by charming monster girls building relationships and somehow
[00:18:53] surviving the chaos along the way.
[00:18:55] With relationship driven combat, dynamic party interactions, sleepovers at the end and a
[00:19:00] whole lot of personality, this game feels equal parts dungeon crawler, dating sim and
[00:19:05] a complete disaster.
[00:19:07] Let's take a look at Rizz Dungeon Skeleton Key to my Heart.
[00:19:10] Alright, standard RPG, gather your party, traverse the dungeon...
[00:19:14] What?
[00:19:15] Obviously.
[00:19:16] In Rizz Dungeon, your weak is sh**.
[00:19:20] So flirt with monster girls and let them do the fighting.
[00:19:27] Just try not to make them jealous.
[00:19:29] Everything you need to know about your girlfriends is on the Worldwide Spider Web.
[00:19:33] Wormwood really grinds their gears, or makes them devote their life to you.
[00:19:38] Grow closer to them at the inn. Talk about your special interests, trauma dump, and then sleep
[00:19:43] in separate beds. Fit up with it, you could always, wait, no don't, wait!
[00:19:50] Deld deeper into the dungeon to encounter new faces. More to kiss, more to recruit.
[00:19:56] So flirt your way through the dungeon, manage everyone's feelings,
[00:20:00] Confront your ex, normal RPG stuff.
[00:20:05] Riz Dungeon, skeleton key to my heart.
[00:20:08] Launching September 17th, 2026.
[00:20:12] Hi, I'm Pearl, this is Yukon, I'm with Riz Dungeon and we're presenting Riz Dungeon,
[00:20:18] Skeleton Key to my Heart.
[00:20:19] We're Riz Dungeon, we are previously known for the turnip boy commits tax evasion
[00:20:25] We make very, very weird comedic games with a lot of parody. Just dump straight in.
[00:20:32] We're also very openly queer studio. I'm a trans fan as the owner.
[00:20:36] And so we have a lot of queer employees and yeah, we're just trying to make the world a better place.
[00:20:44] It's a very uncertain world right now and I feel like just being joyful and sometimes an act of rebellion and life.
[00:20:53] Like, I just want people to feel joy, queer joy, any kind of joy, and to feel seen, and
[00:21:03] have the courage to be themselves, and...
[00:21:06] I think we really want our players to know that like-minded people are out there, you
[00:21:11] know?
[00:21:12] We're here, we're not hiding away, you know?
[00:21:16] We want to have fun, we want to be goofy, and we want to share, you know, the...
[00:21:23] weird joy that we have. That's not going away. I think that's very very important.
[00:21:28] Riz Dungeon is a very very messy relationship simulator slash dungeon
[00:21:34] crawler where you encounter monsters either survive a fight using your already
[00:21:41] recruited monster allies or Riz them up and have them join you on your adventures
[00:21:47] and your whole goal is to get your stuff back from the evil demon dragon
[00:21:52] wishlist now wishlist in the game helps a ton. We're launching on September 17.
[00:21:57] We'll watch out for that.
[00:21:58] We have a demo out right now.
[00:22:00] Yeah, so you can play it right now.
[00:22:02] You can go to suzikazoo.com to join our newsletter right now.
[00:22:07] Next up is she, making its world debut today during Summer Game Fest.
[00:22:11] She is a retro survival horror experience inspired by the classics like Akira and Metal Gear Solid.
[00:22:16] This game blends psychological horror with themes around identity, womanhood,
[00:22:20] and survival inside an oppressive underground military facility.
[00:22:24] You play as a Loot Black, a woman navigating a deeply atmospheric world with tension, existential
[00:22:29] dread and some seriously incredible visual design.
[00:22:33] Check out she.
[00:22:34] The villain sounds like some way thought with a weapon.
[00:22:44] But I was right, he is a god.
[00:22:55] And then she woke up.
[00:23:05] So I'm Lindsay Rollins.
[00:23:07] She here.
[00:23:08] I'm working on She, a seraphim helix experiment.
[00:23:12] And I part one third of the Rocket Drift games.
[00:23:16] And we're just a co-op, small indie studio, developing games in Toronto.
[00:23:22] Roe V. Wade being overturned was a big evictus for us to be a bit more politically engaged
[00:23:29] in the things we wanted to work on, as well as mentoring kind of a new era in my own kind
[00:23:38] of development with my own gender and kind of reckoning with a lot of things that are
[00:23:44] happening to people that like me, that are being marginalized right now by these really
[00:23:51] fascist kind of systems, oppressive systems in place.
[00:23:56] And I don't know, like when I see news updates
[00:24:01] about all these laws being overturned
[00:24:04] and people's rights being taken away,
[00:24:06] it makes me extremely angry.
[00:24:08] And I'm thinking, how do I use that in a productive way?
[00:24:11] And making games is the best way I can think of, really.
[00:24:16] So to fight that kind of fascist messaging
[00:24:20] and inspire other people to think differently
[00:24:24] about those systems as well.
[00:24:27] Without getting too much away,
[00:24:28] the plan is to have the player kind of wake up
[00:24:32] with absolutely no information,
[00:24:34] other than whatever they're getting
[00:24:36] through the radio conversations.
[00:24:38] Very similar to MGS2 in that when Raiden is brought
[00:24:43] into this mission, a lot of things like that he thinks
[00:24:47] he understands about the mission,
[00:24:48] just kind of like get thrown out the window,
[00:24:51] especially at the midway point.
[00:24:53] So we wanted to build that sense of like,
[00:24:56] what is really going on?
[00:24:58] Who do I believe?
[00:25:00] Like are these people that I'm talking to on the radio,
[00:25:04] do they have my best interests at heart?
[00:25:06] Or are they self-interested?
[00:25:08] Or like what are their motivations?
[00:25:10] The monsters that you encounter,
[00:25:13] we start to learn more about like
[00:25:15] how they came to be disinfected from this lab leak,
[00:25:20] what is actually the substance
[00:25:21] that has been used in these experiments,
[00:25:24] where was it derived from?
[00:25:27] And eventually you start to learn more about
[00:25:30] like the, a kind of like, what's the word,
[00:25:35] like Lovecraftian kind of force that's behind all of it.
[00:25:39] And we do that through like drip feeding the information
[00:25:43] as they play through, through the radio dialogue,
[00:25:46] but also the documents that you'll find throughout the lab,
[00:25:50] the monster designs we want to be specific towards,
[00:25:54] the themes of like what, like,
[00:25:58] and we want the monster designs to reflect kind of
[00:26:01] the elements of femininity in terms of like physicality
[00:26:04] that frighten people or might like seem,
[00:26:08] Um, I guess like lurid in like everyday polite society, but this is kind of the reality of having this kind of a body, you know
[00:26:18] Definitely wish list on steam
[00:26:20] And we have a patreon where you can get exclusive behind the scenes footage and dev blogs from us
[00:26:26] As well as early play test builds when they become available all for low low price
[00:26:33] We've already seen such an incredible range of queer storytelling today, and we're honestly just getting started
[00:26:38] From cozy indias and stylish action games to horror, comedy, and heartfelt narratives,
[00:26:45] this showcase really highlights how diverse and creative queer gaming has become.
[00:26:49] But before we jump back into more games, we want to take a moment to thank the partners
[00:26:53] and sponsors helping make today possible.
[00:26:56] Events like this genuinely do not happen without organizations and companies willing
[00:27:00] to invest in queer creators, developers, and communities.
[00:27:04] Their support helps create more opportunities for queer voices to be seen, celebrated, and
[00:27:09] discovered by players around the world.
[00:27:12] So a huge thank you to all of our sponsors for supporting the inaugural Gaming Pride
[00:27:16] Parade and helping uplift queer gaming.
[00:27:19] And now a word from them.
[00:28:04] You cannot have a queer gaming celebration without a little camp, and honestly, nobody
[00:28:28] does camp quite like Kitty Powers.
[00:28:31] Kitty Power's matchmaker makeover is the fabulous remastered return of the viral dating
[00:28:35] sim classic where players run their own matchmaking agency under the expert supervision of legendary
[00:28:41] drag queen, Diva Kitty Powers.
[00:28:45] This updated version brings brand new artwork, expanded customization, chaotic dating minigames,
[00:28:50] and even more inclusive options for players to create exactly who they want to be.
[00:28:55] You can match straight, gay, bi-pan, and non-binary characters, navigate awkward first dates,
[00:29:01] survive disastrous restaurant choices
[00:29:03] and somehow try to keep romance alive through complete chaos.
[00:29:07] And the whole thing is packed with kitty's signature humor,
[00:29:09] ridiculous situation,
[00:29:11] and the exact kind of drag queen touch
[00:29:13] you want guiding your love life.
[00:29:15] This game feels like being personally yelled at
[00:29:17] by your favorite drag queen
[00:29:18] while trying to stop two strangers
[00:29:19] from breaking up over soup.
[00:29:21] And honestly, that's a beautiful thing.
[00:29:24] Let's take a look at Kitty Powers' matchmaker maker.
[00:29:27] You! Yes, you! Are you fluent in the language of love? Could you take other people's love
[00:29:36] lives into your hand? Well now you can prove your caring prowess! In my newly remastered

[00:29:50] extraordinaire! In the last decade, the road to true love has grown even longer and harder!
[00:29:56] Oh, I say, which is why every master nagger-loving dating simulator
[00:30:01] How exciting!
[00:30:03] Run your own dating agency, and become a matchmaking maestro
[00:30:07] My little black book is bulging with new symptoms, and need your help
[00:30:12] Oh, bless, lavish them with a deluxe treatment in the salon
[00:30:16] Ooh!
[00:30:17] The members of Gorgeously Refurbished date their news
[00:30:21] Of her courtship catastrophes, inhuman and brute dating dilemmas
[00:30:26] Decide whether to go in hot, or hold back and make the spirits outrageous.
[00:30:31] Will they reach the limousine of loveliness, or the land for your loveliness?
[00:30:37] I've got some special dating tools and help up your arsenal.
[00:30:41] Press me, and I might give you one.
[00:30:43] It's stuffed with enough improvements to make your eyes water.
[00:30:47] Or what, can I just sit down?
[00:30:50] Kitty Power's matchmaker makeover.
[00:30:52] Coming soon.
[00:30:55] You lucky things!
[00:30:57] Hello kittens, I'm Kitty Powers, matchmaker extraordinaire, well actually I'm a game developer.
[00:31:03] Now we've made Kitty Powers matchmaker makeover, which was the 10 year anniversary remaster of the original game.
[00:31:10] It's like a dating simulator, but for everyone...
[00:31:13] Now Kitty Powers, what's your number one tip for dating?
[00:31:17] Just the tip.
[00:31:19] Okay, that's it, that's the tip.
[00:31:22] I have many tips. I'm the matchmaking maestro, you know. I can break it down in every subject area, but that was, you know, I think that's as good as our penultra's any.
[00:31:36] If you're a matchmaker, it's a dating simulator, but it's not like any dating simulator you've seen before, because most dating simulators are not simulators, they're just sort of choose your own adventure books.
[00:31:48] Our game is actually a simulator where we randomly procedurally generate characters of all different persuasions
[00:31:54] and you have to match them and then send them on dates to see if you can get to get into a ship and then you get paid.
[00:32:03] We've got a new update in the work, so online gaming so you can play with your friends.
[00:32:09] There will be the high school tables from the original game.
[00:32:12] We're also bringing back avatar dates, send your friends on dates, which you couldn't do in the original game.
[00:32:18] And all sorts of wonderfulness.
[00:32:21] There's also going to be some amazing collecting kitty pins,
[00:32:25] team kitten themed badges for all my kittens.
[00:32:28] Something more fun for people that have completed the game but love the game
[00:32:32] and want to spend more time in here, but don't want that grind.
[00:32:35] Well they want something to grind, so that he has some kitty pins he can grind for.
[00:32:39] If you go to matignotion.com, there's a page there with all of our social media links,
[00:32:46] which you can choose from to your heart's content or come and join the Discord. I hang out
[00:32:52] on there every day. So a little fun fact about me, I love card games. And next up is a game that
[00:32:57] takes one of the most classic card games ever made and completely reimagined as a celebration
[00:33:02] of indie art and creativity. Art of Solitaire transformed Solitaire into an incredibly cozy
[00:33:07] and stylish experience where every deck is designed by real-world indie artists from around the globe.
[00:33:13] You are not just building cards here, you're building an interactive art collection filled
[00:33:17] with everything from fantasy worlds and cute animals to surreal illustrations and queer folklore
[00:33:22] inspired designs. This game features classic modes like Klondike, Spider, and Pyramid Solitaire
[00:33:28] all wrapped up in gorgeous visuals, relaxing ASMR sounds, and their signature flick mechanic that
[00:33:33] that literally lets you fling cards across the screen.
[00:33:36] And one of the coolest parts about this game
[00:33:38] is that it uplifts artists directly
[00:33:40] with new creator collaborations
[00:33:42] and featured decks releasing all year round.
[00:33:44] For Pride, the game is spotlighting work
[00:33:46] from queer illustrator, Camilla Crowell,
[00:33:48] through a Slavic queer folklore deck celebrating LGBTQIA
[00:33:51] plus identity through mythology and culture.
[00:33:54] Let's hear more from the team behind Art of Solitaire.
[00:35:57] I
[00:36:57] I'm Ian, I founded the company in 2019.
[00:37:03] I am Santiago and I work as a creative producer at Solitaire.
[00:37:07] I'm Camila, I'm a Polish, a queer artist, illustrator and comic artist I suppose.
[00:37:15] Solitaire is the most played game ever.
[00:37:20] We wanted to bring solitaire and you know how the genius of it and how relaxing it is, how zen it is and
[00:37:30] how brain tingling it is to a new generation of players. So it's a game that we crafted to make
[00:37:39] it feel very beautiful and tactile, which is very important you know. You can feel dragging the
[00:37:44] cards and making it very satisfying. There's something that I really love when I was working on
[00:37:48] the deck that the way you designed the whole game and the whole digital space it just creates this
[00:37:54] lovely peaceful canvas and then as you say it's like oh I can add like any kind of like crazy
[00:38:00] personality onto that lovely canvas and the the function that I really loved which was designing
[00:38:06] little stickers and emojis to go and then stickers that can be put on the table top I thought that
[00:38:12] was such a fun idea and that way you can yeah sort of be a mix and match yeah I thought yeah that
[00:38:17] that was great and makes it just all more. I think if you can make something more personal,
[00:38:23] you become more passionate about it, so that's really good.
[00:38:26] Yeah, exactly. We really want people to make it their own. You know, feel like some sense
[00:38:29] of ownership on a thing, you know, exactly as Camilla's saying.
[00:38:33] I love that Camilla has just dropped a feature that we haven't released yet in the game.
[00:38:40] Oh, I didn't know!
[00:38:43] I didn't know.
[00:38:46] No, it's all good for the last several months we've been getting the artists who work with us to create stickers.
[00:38:54] We're adding this feature where you'll be able to buy something.
[00:38:56] I'm just so cool I could not say it.
[00:39:00] To customize the table, but we haven't put it in yet, so yes, but we're excited about that.
[00:39:05] But we would love to get some feedback from people who stream this and see how it's working for them
[00:39:11] and then how we can improve it.
[00:39:13] Check out the game.
[00:39:14] Yeah.
[00:39:15] We're available for cross-platform play.
[00:39:19] You know, we're on iOS, on Android, and on Steam,
[00:39:23] so you can play anywhere,
[00:39:24] and your collection is always gonna sync up.
[00:39:26] And of course, Camilla's wonderful deck
[00:39:29] is going to be the deck of the month for June,
[00:39:31] for Pride Month, so we're very excited about that.
[00:39:34] Okay, so yeah, everyone, check out the Pride deck.
[00:39:38] It's already in the game, it launched on June 1st,
[00:39:41] and it's a special pride design, clear fold.
[00:39:46] Hope you enjoy it.
[00:39:48] Games are important,
[00:39:49] but community is what truly makes queer gaming culture
[00:39:52] so special.
[00:39:53] Queer to gamers is helping create spaces
[00:39:55] where queer players can connect, compete,
[00:39:58] build friendships and feel genuinely welcomed in gaming.
[00:40:00] This group focuses on bringing queer gamers together
[00:40:04] through online communities, event, content,
[00:40:06] and safe spaces that celebrate both gaming and identity.
[00:40:10] And honestly, right now, that kind of representation matters.
[00:40:13] Research continues to show that LGBTQIA plus players often
[00:40:16] turn to gaming communities as spaces for connection,
[00:40:19] self-expression, and support, especially when those faces feel
[00:40:22] inclusive and affirming.
[00:40:24] Organizations and communities like Quirty Gamers
[00:40:27] help gaming feel more accessible, more supportive,
[00:40:30] and a lot more fun for queer players around the world.
[00:40:33] One of the best parts of gaming culture
[00:40:35] is seeing how people continue building spaces for each other.
[00:40:38] Whether it's the committee events, streaming eSports,
[00:40:41] or just finding your people online,
[00:40:43] that sense of belonging means everything.
[00:40:46] All right, let's take a closer look at QWERTY GAMERS.
[00:40:50] Hello, I'm Kusher.
[00:40:51] I'm the online events manager with QWERTY GAMERS.
[00:40:54] QWERTY GAMERS is a Father 1C3 nonprofit,
[00:40:58] and our mission is to support and uplift LGBTQIA2S plus
[00:41:04] gamers, creators, and industry professionals
[00:41:07] providing resources, community, education, and opportunities that expand visibility, connection,
[00:41:14] and real-world impact across gaming culture. So we just kicked off our Queer Quest event,
[00:41:19] which is our biggest fundraiser of the year. This includes a three-day parade-a-thon event on Twitch,
[00:41:24] along with many other fun events throughout the entire month of June. How can you get more involved?
[00:41:30] We are always looking for volunteers and donations. We are also excited to announce that we are now
[00:41:36] taking applications for our QWERTY GAMERS creator program. So if you enjoy streaming and are looking
[00:41:42] for an inclusive community to join, please fill out our application. All of this information can
[00:41:48] be found on our website at www.QWERTYGAMERS.org. So if you're looking for more queer games,
[00:41:54] you can go to QWERTYGAMERS.org slash games and you can find a list of queer games and if you're
[00:42:03] interested in submitting a game. You actually can submit a game right on that website as well.
[00:42:09] We hope to see you soon. Keep games gay. Love. That's so gay.
[00:42:15] All right, it's officially time for some adorable chaos. Skipe Ptoots is a retro-inspired 2D platform
[00:42:21] shooter that blends colorful charm of classic games like Kirby and Mega Man with fast-paced
[00:42:26] action exploration and creature collecting. You'll jump dash and shoot your way through cozy stages
[00:42:31] is filled with perfect characters, silly mysteries,
[00:42:34] hidden paths, and a whole lot of personality.
[00:42:37] And while the game looks super cute on the surface,
[00:42:39] there's also a really satisfying action
[00:42:41] platformer underneath with power-ups, non-linear level
[00:42:44] design, and enemies you can actually collect along the way.
[00:42:47] The Pixar is really gorgeous.
[00:42:48] The music has perfect nostalgic retro energy,
[00:42:51] and the whole game feels like a love letter
[00:42:53] to classic platformers from the 90s.
[00:42:56] Let's take a look at Kupa 2.
[00:43:27] My name is Patrick Scrandas.
[00:43:57] So I am part of Okie-Pokie Games, and I'm making a game called Cupidoots.
[00:44:03] So what is Cupidoots?
[00:44:05] It's a cute, colorful, action-packed adventure.
[00:44:09] You get to jump and shoot and find secrets and get powers and collect enemies, but it's
[00:44:16] kind of retro-inspired, so really you're just trying to save the day.
[00:44:20] The themes for Cupid Toots came from really trying to understand how we accept ourselves
[00:44:27] and a lot of it is accepting yourselves for the imperfections and also, you know, personally
[00:44:33] and emotionally.
[00:44:34] I think the biggest driver for this was how to fight against being emotionally perfect,
[00:44:40] right?
[00:44:41] It's not going to be good vibes only all of the time.
[00:44:45] You have to have 10 of those nid vibes or bad vibes to really become old.
[00:44:50] And that really pushed me to explore how we understand and accept emotion.
[00:44:56] And I felt like that was kind of a radical concept to put into a little cute game.
[00:45:01] I think as the world of Cute the Toots was coming out, I had all these characters that
[00:45:08] interact and care about each other, but in seeing that I didn't find gender as a super
[00:45:14] important character design aspect.
[00:45:17] It was kind of a world where these characters are bouncy and friendly, but gender isn't
[00:45:24] really that, you know, constructed for them.
[00:45:28] And it really helped me as I'm considering like the dialogue and narrative to be a little
[00:45:33] creative and introspective on how I can write without the constraint of gender.
[00:45:41] And these characters, they're just all friends.
[00:45:44] thought like an important factor of them being she or she or they. I've
[00:45:50] purposely omitted kind of that demarcation in the game, but the
[00:45:55] characters don't care what they're called, but it's not a big important part
[00:46:00] of them. They're not defined by being each she or they, and it's actually not
[00:46:04] really that relevant in the world, which I think is really an interesting way to
[00:46:08] explore and interact with language and with personality and relationships.
[00:46:14] I hope that there are players that find this game charming in a way that encourages them
[00:46:19] to explore this cute kind of colorful world and the characters and secrets, but also kind
[00:46:27] of like let it be a parallel to be a little introspective and think about how they interact
[00:46:32] with their own world.
[00:46:34] I think the biggest emotion that I'd like to prefer or I guess the biggest thing I'd
[00:46:40] like to see some players is that, you know, Keep Pute Tuts, the world loves you and I hope
[00:46:45] you get to love the world and keep Pute Tuts too.
[00:46:48] Now this one has an absolutely incredible premise.
[00:46:52] Spill the Beans is a reverse detective visual novel where a secret recipe has been stolen
[00:46:56] and unfortunately you're the one who stole it.
[00:47:00] Instead of solving the mystery, your job is to manipulate conversations, gather evidence,
[00:47:04] interrogate suspects, and somehow convince everyone that somebody else committed the
[00:47:08] crime.
[00:47:09] The game takes place inside of a cozy fantasy cafe filled with vampires, skeletons, magical
[00:47:14] disasters, and one very judgmental cat boss.
[00:47:19] All wrapped in this gorgeous, hand-drawn art style.
[00:47:22] And what makes the game really stand out is how reactive it is.
[00:47:26] Characters remember how you treat them, relationships evolve based on your choices, and there are
[00:47:30] are often 15 different accusation paths,
[00:47:33] depending on who you decide to frame.
[00:47:35] Posey, chaotic, extremely queer,
[00:47:38] and somehow manages to make emotional manipulation
[00:47:40] look weirdly charming.
[00:47:42] Let's take a look at Spill the Beans.
[00:47:44] music
[00:47:56] music
[00:48:02] music
[00:48:40] Hello, I'm Eve, I am a programmer and writer and I'm working on Spill the Beans, a reverse
[00:48:47] detective visual novel. Originally Spill the Beans started as a game jam project that
[00:48:52] was meant to take place over a month. We went through a bunch of ideas that we thought we
[00:48:56] would like, we thought cozy cafes were cool, but we also loved detective games. We have
[00:49:00] a lot of fans of things like Ace of Journey on the team, so we wanted to mount those two
[00:49:04] into one thing at the end of the day. With Course of the Month, we laid out our cast
[00:49:09] characters we wanted to include but we never quite figured out who the culprit
[00:49:13] was. We knew what the game game's name was, it would be Spill of Beans because
[00:49:18] that's a really fun name to give to a game set in a coffee shop that's not
[00:49:21] detective stuff. So the game jam went along, it ended and we didn't quite finish
[00:49:28] the game because you hadn't figured out who the culprit was until we sat down and
[00:49:31] we thought maybe the most interesting thing we could do is say that the player
[00:49:35] is the culprit and suddenly that twisted the whole idea on its head. Suddenly
[00:49:39] you know, all these people you were interrogating, we knew why you couldn't find out why they
[00:49:44] done it, it's because you had done it.
[00:49:46] And now we have this new dynamic to play with, to make the player a manipulator, and how
[00:49:50] that could maybe take a new twist and a new kind of emotional states to give to this cozy
[00:49:56] setting that we had fallen in love with.
[00:49:59] I think for me, The CrossFit is always characters, you know, when you go to a cafe, it's really
[00:50:03] cool and peaceful, and you know, you have your nice drink, but there are all these people
[00:50:06] around you and you don't know what their lives and their internality is actually going to
[00:50:10] be because you know you're sitting by yourself and you're relaxing.
[00:50:15] And so it's full of beans, you know, you have that coziness at the cafe, but you also have
[00:50:19] people and you're talking to people and you're finding out that internality they have, the
[00:50:25] things that make them take an argument.
[00:50:27] And I think there is something inherently cozy about getting to know someone else that
[00:50:31] you are put in this kind of high-stakes situation where they are more likely to share what they
[00:50:36] more slightly personal things and there's an intimacy to that that I think is inherently
[00:50:40] kind of cozy and very close to the chest and very intimate.
[00:50:44] The thing that I hope people must reflect on is what it means to manipulate someone
[00:50:51] because in my opinion and writing this, this is kind of what I'm taking away, is to manipulate
[00:50:56] someone is to know them, it is to know all their weaknesses, all their flaws, all the
[00:51:00] ways that you can change them, but also to not have them know you in any way, to have
[00:51:06] than not see through the facade and not see who you are and the inherent
[00:51:10] loneliness of that, of knowing someone but not being known yourself. And that
[00:51:15] may be across the course of the game. As you change people's minds and hearts, you
[00:51:20] start to see the other paths that open up and the importance of connection,
[00:51:25] whether that's knowing someone or being known in the journey. Please be sure to
[00:51:28] wishlist, build the beans on steam and check out our newly updated demo just
[00:51:32] for this event where you can play Jesse's first free we're releasing with
[00:51:35] public right now where you can try to figure out something about their mysterious past with one
[00:51:40] of the other members of the cafe trapped inside with you. The Gaming Pride Parade is sponsored by

[00:52:16] LogitechG.com. Remember the pure feeling of playing, running to reach out and tag a friend,
[00:52:25] Place in the last block on a medieval castle.
[00:52:29] Put in your last quartile in the arcade knowing it's high school or bust.
[00:52:35] The anticipation.
[00:52:37] The rush.
[00:52:40] The genuine joy of play.
[00:52:42] It makes us feel alive.
[00:52:44] That's a feeling we can't help but chase.
[00:52:47] To experience it.
[00:52:49] Share it.
[00:52:50] And keep it feeling new.
[00:52:52] by always making play better.
[00:52:56] Like when 8-bit graphics doubled every few years.
[00:53:01] And every advance felt like we were landing
[00:53:03] on an undiscovered planet.
[00:53:05] Or when the people you played with
[00:53:07] went from friends in the neighborhood
[00:53:09] to friends around the world.
[00:53:13] And when wires were replaced by fridges.
[00:53:16] Creating breakthroughs in play
[00:53:18] can be just as exciting as playing, if not more so.
[00:53:22] Because everything we design, build and innovate
[00:53:26] brings that real joy of play to everyone.
[00:53:29] First-time gamer or eSports pro we've gotten.
[00:53:33] Think about it.
[00:53:36] We design controllers that enable more people to play.
[00:53:40] We make invisible connections faster.
[00:53:43] We put F1 cockpits into living rooms.
[00:53:46] We make sound to sound better.
[00:53:49] and give mice endless power.
[00:53:53] Play challenges us, connects us, and fuels our creativity,
[00:53:59] inspiring us to find new ways to advance the game.
[00:54:04] So when people ask what we do and why we do,
[00:54:10] it all boils down to helping every human live by two words.
[00:54:14] Keep playing.
[00:54:21] Okay y'all, this next game is fabulous!
[00:54:25] Neon Death Drop is a fast-paced top-down action game where you play as Serif, a gay go-go dancer
[00:54:31] using fierce choreography and kinetic powers to save a futuristic neon city from hordes of rogue robots.
[00:54:37] You're dodging bullet hell attacks, changing together stylish dance combos, manipulating the environment around you,
[00:54:43] you and literally swinging enemies off the map with pure queer energy. The combat is all about
[00:54:49] movement, rhythm, and style points with flashy choreography and inspired mechanics that make
[00:54:54] every fight feel more like a performance than a battle. But underneath all the chaos and camp,
[00:54:59] there's also a really heartfelt story here about identity, community, and becoming the hero you
[00:55:04] were born to be. And visually, this thing looks incredible. Neon lights, futuristic city-states,
[00:55:10] stylish character designs. It feels like a nightclub. A cyberpunk anime and a drag performance all
[00:55:16] crashed into each other. Check out the latest gameplay from Neon Death Drop.
[00:55:25] All right, boys. Let's get this show started.
[00:55:31] Sir, drop the floor and push them in.
[00:55:34] I didn't even realize you were all into group play. Am I the star?
[00:55:45] Fuck my life!
[00:55:50] Step off, Sally! Back off, Becky!
[00:55:56] Serif, brace yourself.
[00:56:07] Something is going to happen.
[00:56:12] Not me.
[00:56:15] That's the only thing that can defeat these powerbots.
[00:56:24] It's a power, body.
[00:56:28] A Death Drop!
[00:56:33] Hello, my name is Marc Steller.
[00:56:35] I'm definitely one of those gays.
[00:56:37] And I'm the director of the Young Death Drop.
[00:56:40] You're playing as a gay go-to dancer in the Supreme Countries.
[00:56:43] I'm a go-to dancer as well.
[00:56:45] So I really wanted to bring this kind of energy into the Young Death Drop as well.
[00:56:49] And to share this experience with what it feels like to be the life of the party.
[00:56:53] The demo for Neon Left Truck is out on Steam right now.
[00:56:59] Don't play, wishlist, and follow up some Kickstarter with a V-logging or catpapers.
[00:57:06] From high energy action to something a little more emotional and nostalgic, Tako no Himatsu
[00:57:12] Ocean of Secrets is a gorgeous action RPG inspired by the golden era of Game Boy Advance
[00:57:17] Adventures, blending classic retro storytelling with modern gameplay and deeply personal themes.
[00:57:23] The game takes place in a world where Octopi have mysteriously been erased from history,
[00:57:27] and players follow six different heroes as they uncover the secrets behind
[00:57:31] disappearing wildlife, rising political tensions, and shadow creatures consuming the world.
[00:57:36] Alongside your magical Octopi companions, you'll explore colorful pixel art environments,
[00:57:41] solve puzzles, battle shadow monsters in real-time combat,
[00:57:45] and slowly piece together the truth behind the world's forgotten past.
[00:57:49] And honestly, the art direction here is incredible.
[00:57:52] the entire game feels like discovering a long-lost fantasy RPG from the early 2000s,
[00:57:57] complete with beautiful pixel graphics, emotional storytelling, expressive animation,
[00:58:01] and music from legendary composer Motomi Sakuraba, known for Golden Sun, Tales of, and Dark Souls.
[00:58:08] But what really makes the game stand out is how personal it feels. Each character has their own
[00:58:13] trauma, history, and emotional journey to overcome as they try to bring back hope to the fractured
[00:58:19] world. Let's take a look at Takano Himutsu, Ocean of Seafings.
[00:59:49] I'm Christophe Galati, I'm a French indie game developer and I own the studio Denius.
[01:00:00] Promas and dark stuff always been near me and in my opinion games are what saved me because
[01:00:07] during this time I used to kind of escape by playing a lot of JRPGs.
[01:00:13] So leaving those adventurers and these characters helped me survive my life, I guess.
[01:00:20] So I really always wanted to make a JRPG that will have a deep storyline that could also
[01:00:25] maybe help people.
[01:00:27] So in the game, like drag is not only part of the storyline, it's also very present
[01:00:35] in the game world.
[01:00:36] Like in each turn, there is a bar with some drag artists, but in the queen's or queer.
[01:00:42] In the character, fights with his drag, basically during the game, and as you can see in the
[01:00:48] trailers that will be with the interview, he kind of unlocks looks during the games.
[01:00:56] There is like a lot of political stuff also, like there is a presidential election in the
[01:01:01] game.
[01:01:02] Also, regarding the Queen, as I mentioned, I did cameos of real world drag queen, so
[01:01:09] There is more than 50 real world drag queens in the game.
[01:01:13] It also led to a side quest where you have like a Pokédex,
[01:01:17] actually, where you have to find all of the drag queens in the world.
[01:01:21] They show it in the book, and so, yeah, there is a lot to look forward to in the game.
[01:01:28] And yeah, hopefully I managed to get the right mix of
[01:01:31] making traditional JRPG aspect, like saving the world, killing the world, stuff like that.
[01:01:36] while having more than stuff like characters speaking about their traumas and
[01:01:40] and so on. The only thing I might like sometimes I'm afraid like people will only see the game as the game with the drag queens
[01:01:49] because there's a lot of characters and a lot of stuff but I guess once the game
[01:01:53] released they can see the whole picture. We don't have a release date yet
[01:01:57] hopefully we can release the game next year. We did a Kickstarter campaign already
[01:02:02] which was pretty successful, and that there is a demo on Steam since the Kickstarter campaign.
[01:02:08] One of the best things about queer gaming is how it brings people together.
[01:02:12] And few groups embody that spirit better than Boston Gamers.
[01:02:16] Boston Gamers is a nonprofit LGBTQIA plus gaming community dedicated to creating safe,
[01:02:22] welcoming spaces for queer gamers to connect, build friendships, and celebrate gaming together.
[01:02:27] What started as a small community meetup has grown into massive networks of thousands of members
[01:02:32] across online and in-person spaces,
[01:02:35] hosting everything from board game nights
[01:02:36] and tournaments to convention events,
[01:02:38] charity streams, karaoke nights,
[01:02:40] and community meetups.
[01:02:42] And what's really special is how intentional they are
[01:02:44] when building inclusive spaces where queer players
[01:02:46] can genuinely feel comfortable being themselves.
[01:02:49] Through their Discord community, local events,
[01:02:52] convention presence, and fundraising efforts,
[01:02:54] Boston Gamers has helped create meaningful friendships
[01:02:57] and support system for queer gamers
[01:02:59] throughout Massachusetts and beyond.
[01:03:01] They've also raised $10,000 for LGBTQIA plus charities through streams and events,
[01:03:07] proving just how powerful gaming communities can be when they come together around a shared purpose.
[01:03:13] We had the chance to catch up with the team behind Boston Gamers to learn a bit about their
[01:03:17] mission, their community, and the work they're doing to make gaming more welcome for everyone.
[01:03:21] Let's take a look. I am Matthew Vincent. I'm the Executive Director of Boston Gamers.
[01:03:26] Boston Gamers has now existed for nine years.
[01:03:29] We've been operating in the greater Boston area,
[01:03:31] running a bunch of events to help folks
[01:03:34] find queer community, fight isolation in the community,
[01:03:38] and just offer better mental health for people
[01:03:40] to get out and connect with people.
[01:03:42] We run over five events per month now,
[01:03:44] ranging from board game events
[01:03:46] to video game tournaments, drag shows.
[01:03:49] So we're really all about sharing our passion of gaming
[01:03:52] through community and through community events.
[01:03:54] And then this year, we're actually hosting our own small gaming convention called Gamerfest.
[01:04:00] So we're so happy to be able to put something on that's going to be that special for the community.
[01:04:05] And if you'd like to learn more about Boston Gamers, you can check us out at BostonGamers.com.
[01:04:10] There's a Discord link there. Follow us on Instagram.
[01:04:12] You'll see all the amazing events we're doing every single month.
[01:04:15] And if you do want to check out Gamerfest, that's happening in September, go to Gamerfest.com.
[01:04:20] And you can get tickets and check out all the stuff we're doing there.
[01:04:23] goes out the showcase. We
[01:04:26] with magic mystery romance
[01:04:29] vibes. Wild society is a
[01:04:32] drama life sim by studio
[01:04:35] of the award winning wild
[01:04:37] as Vivian Wild, a witch s
[01:04:40] house hosts living in the
[01:04:42] Fairhaven at the turn of
[01:04:45] game really lets you live
[01:04:46] Go run a day and customi
[01:04:49] house hosts elegant tea p
[01:04:51] balls, manage guest relationships, practice witchcraft, conduct
[01:04:55] seances, and maybe even a little spark of romance and drama along the way.
[01:05:00] One of the coolest things about Wild Society is how much player choice
[01:05:03] will shape the experience.
[01:05:05] You decide who to invite into your home, how events unfold, which
[01:05:08] relationships grow stronger, and what kind of socialite Vivian ultimately becomes.
[01:05:13] Visually, this game is absolutely stunning.
[01:05:16] The fashion, architecture, and entire atmosphere feels inspired by classic period
[01:05:21] dramas, but layered with magical fantasy, queer storytelling,
[01:05:25] and cozy lifestyle mechanics.
[01:05:27] You can also collect magical familiars,
[01:05:29] connect with spirits, explore the supernatural side
[01:05:31] of Fairhaven, and influence the town
[01:05:34] through both your social circle and your witchcraft.
[01:05:37] Let's hear from the team behind Wilde Society.
[01:05:39] Welcome to Wilde Society, a witchy period drama
[01:05:45] sim where you run your own magical boarding house.
[01:05:48] I'm Alexandra Liu, and I'll walk you
[01:05:50] through one of our most exciting features, rituals.
[01:05:54] A witch's power is only as strong as her ingredients.
[01:05:57] You'll need to explore the island
[01:05:59] to find everything you need for your magic.
[01:06:02] To create a ritual, you'll need to discover ingredients
[01:06:05] which possess the same magical properties
[01:06:07] and craft them into the right form.
[01:06:10] When you pick up a new plant, shell, or crystal,
[01:06:13] check your crafting stations.
[01:06:14] They'll show if you have any ingredients
[01:06:16] with undiscovered words of power.
[01:06:18] And the first time you craft it,
[01:06:19] reveal what that power is. Now you can prepare your very own ritual.
[01:06:24] Read the incantation to find out which words of power are needed, and then use
[01:06:30] the items you've crafted to fill in each word of power. More powerful rituals
[01:06:37] will need additional ritual items such as gemstones or potions may even require
[01:06:42] harnessing the stars. Just like our previous title, ritual magic is the heart
[01:06:48] of all your witchy activities. So with the help of powerful ingredients and your
[01:06:53] coven, you can use rituals for things like growing potions faster, changing the
[01:06:57] weather, or even growing a bridge to explore new areas. We have lots more
[01:07:03] magic to share with you in the future. For now, best witches!
[01:07:08] Hello, hello. I'm Victoria Kershaw. I'm from a development company called Studio DryDoc.
[01:07:24] We're really passionate about cosy, heartfelt storytelling, creating immersive, nonviolent
[01:07:30] games and reflecting worlds where everyone can belong. Something really different about
[01:07:36] Wild Society from our first game,
[01:07:38] is that your choices really influence the narrative a lot.
[01:07:42] You'll be choosing things like what tenants
[01:07:44] you'll be hosting at your boarding house,
[01:07:46] who to match make, who you'll be deciding to romance,
[01:07:50] if that's your thing,
[01:07:51] and even things like who do you endorse to be mayor.
[01:07:56] So your choices always really matter here.
[01:07:58] Essentially, we're trying to create this witchy,
[01:08:01] Bridgerton world where you get to both be a powerful witch,
[01:08:06] but you're also a very powerful social life.
[01:08:09] Maybe your coven needs a new witch.
[01:08:11] So maybe you wanna host an intimate tea party
[01:08:14] with just a couple people.
[01:08:16] Could be someone from the town, could be a local,
[01:08:19] and yeah, maybe you wanna help them get in touch
[01:08:21] with their magical powers and convince them to join you.
[01:08:25] Oh my gosh, I am just so excited
[01:08:28] to continue introducing this game to Booktop
[01:08:31] because I really feel like they're gonna vibe really hard
[01:08:34] with what we're putting down.
[01:08:36] If you're a PC player, please wishlist us on Steam.
[01:08:39] We're there right now.

[01:08:58] period drama, fanatics, historical costume maker,
[01:09:03] cosplay of friends?

[01:09:06] Word of mouth is huge.
