It's ESL Challenger League Season 47 Playoffs. We are down in a low bracket with a cracker game and there's
only two days left Mitch, we're gonna be bringing you all the fun or the action
or the excitement I can't wait to see what FlyQuest and MindFreak are going
against one another. Yeah at least for me in this format uh today's the last
day of exciting exciting games i mean we've got two seeding grand finals for prize money tomorrow
but at least uh in my opinion being from a minor region you know, Oceania
I'll take some
what's the word?
credit for Asia as well
because I've been in and about
Asia casting and playing coaching a little bit for however many years
um the qualification is the most important part without a doubt uh so today we're going to
qualify the next two teams who are going to represent both Australia as well
as the rest of Asia. And
I'm keen to see who we're going to send over because
the region's on the rise
for both of them in terms of how the
teams are performing lately, and we've got some
interesting storylines
to look at.
Yeah, like imagine
if...
We've already had
two big upsets.
Imagine if for
some reason
something crazy
goes down today and the fourth best team beats the first best
team in the region and fly quests don't end up qualifying for pro league that'd be interesting
and i don't know about the percentage chance of that happening, but
Mindfreak are on the come up and FlyQuest
unfortunately
looking a little bit shaky after what we saw yesterday.
Yeah they had some good rounds, but also Rooster
certainly took it to them. But of course let's have a quick look
at the bracket and how everything has gone down so far here in esl challenge season 47. it's been an
interesting one we've had three days of games here or two days so far
we're on the third now but as you can see rooster took out bnk and then mind
freak also took out b and k20 down in that lower bracket i think you know
that'll get updated at a moment in the upper bracket we saw fly quest and rooster go toe-to-toe yesterday
taking it all the bloody way on to the maps after like west came out
and slaughtered rooster on the first and then of
course we did have Vantage show
what they're capable of taking Mindfreak to three
in that first round as well. But that leaves us here
in the lower bracket final which is a best-of-three
and then the winner of this goes on to take Rooster
in a best-of-five for seeding in the grand final
tomorrow night. And the prize money as well,
I mean, what's the difference in OZ?
I know it's bigger in Asia, but the difference is
OZ is $1,250, so I don't
think you actually care really that much if you come first or second.
But country going and participating in Pro League, it's gonna be the difference between probably playing like a Na'Vi
And then playing like a really good European team.
Like the difference
between playing
like our best team in the world
or something like that
and then play...
A major winner
or the best team in the world?
To pick your poison.
Yeah, yeah.
So that's kind of what we're talking about here.
Interestingly enough, just to quickly...
Russo have a one map advantage for coming to the upper bracket.
They do? Okay.
I didn't know if that was a thing
I was wondering in the shower before we started
the broadcast, yeah. So it's only
gonna be four maps maximum played
tomorrow for Oss and then
same for Aja so that'll be interesting.
Whoever goes up against him, Rooster only have to take
what? Two maps? Two maps to win.
Yep. And they win. And then the other team will
have to go for all three. So could be a long night.
Could be a short one. I guess we'll see once we get there. And tonight's could be a short one as well if Mindfreak don't bring their A game because we know FlyQuest. We have expectations for FlyQuest. That's the. And if we're looking at the map pool,
it's going to be an interesting one between these two
because so far FlyQuest have shown what they're capable of
but they're banning Dust2
and I feel like maybe are we
going to get that vertigo in?
i'm really hoping we get a vertigo
but then of its gonna slide through
well let's have a look I suppose
for ourselves.
Can better inform ourselves about this matchup.
Mirage, Anubis Nuke, no one has taken any risks.
They've banned Vertigo and Dust2 first two
And just said lets play the most standard five left over from that um so
yeah no risk taken here mirage pick from mind freak uh let's have a look.
They on Mirage have lost to BNK, beat BNK and lost to FlyQuest last time they played them 4-13 in April
So that was not particularly game. They've chose to
play them again off the back of the fact
that FlyQuest have recently lost out to Rooster
and lost it a couple
of times overseas
So look, showing some weakness
on that map but not anything
close to losing against a team
of Mindfreak's caliber.
Anubis is a map that
Mindfreak used to play a lot of, looking at their results on that.
They've only played it once recently and I was against pretty lackluster teams so they really don't have many competitive reps on it in the last three rounds
And that might not be a good thing for them having to play
the best team in the region on that.
They've played a few though as well, like in the last six months so
that's just outside those three months
area you said didn't keep it competitive against
rooster but it's always the same scoreline so
it feels like mindfreen might be a bit of a one-sided team when it comes to
anubis so I guess we'll see
what they're capable of taking or doing
once we get to Anubis, because it's certainly
going to be played and then the decider
might not be played. But look,
Mirage is always a great place to try and make an upset happen.
Yeah I'd say Nuke was also a map that FlyQuest kind of destroyed Mindfreecom when they played them 13-4
And that was in the regular season last month of Challenger. So
already, the map pool not looking great.
What I will say about Mindfreak is one of the things that
I remember about them is that they like
NUK3D. They choose to play
a lot. They've kind of got slapped by some of the good teams.
They're barely eking out B and K advantage on that map,
so they've got a couple dubs on it,
and I remember even the old Mivory core
there really liked playing Nuke.
I'm sure that Tux is probably
pretty comfortable calling Nuke going back
to like however many teams when he
used to be on the top couple of teams in Australia
they would love playing Nuke all the time
and Chiefs and all of the teams that he
played in. He's very, very comfortable
and confident playing that map I'd imagine
I just don't think
it matters. I think Flyk... Myfreak
already overperformed and beat BNK
And showed us that they're on that upward trajectory
Like for me
You know it's this thing where
Okay first of all
They qualified to the top four closed qualifier events in OCE.
They made it through the open qualifier.
They've shown that they're the best of the rest.
Then they showed us a couple times
oh, they're actually pushing some of these decent teams.
Then they take a B01 upsets in like the round robin stage of challenger and
now they finally got their big po3 upset against bmk and look that's as far as it's going to go
as far as i'm concerned this go. As far as I'm concerned
this is gonna be all business for FlyQuest
This is a two-all time match
to qualify for Pro League
They're not pulling any punches
and like mind freak
even if they're playing their A game today
and FlyQuests are playing their B game today and fly quests are playing their
b or c game flight west will win that's just what's going to happen um
fly quest would have to absolutely the bed this match to not qualify
yeah and look mind freak of course not having
the weight of any expectations on their shoulders
might allow them to play a better game. Maybe it makes him play worse knowing that
it's the toughest competition they're going to play. And sometimes that
might make them choke up, I guess we'll
see once we're into the game how that is actually
going to affect them.
For me, I just want to see Mindfree play good
today, I want to see what they're capable of,
I want to see them pull off a couple of good rounds,
I want to see them in one and a half be like,
oh, they're winning this half,
they're showing us some good gun runs. That's my expectation
for Mindfreak today.
We've got a Kadir player to watch mitch who've we gone for i think i chose slimy just because he's the the player that's kind of interested me
on mindfreak a little bit every time time I'm kind of scrolling through their games,
they're often doing things by committee.
They have a couple of players. I think Pain, Supar
and Slimey are all playing pretty well together
and Tux has been playing pretty good
in the various iterations of Mindfreak as well so um for
me slav is an interesting pick because he took a long break from competing he was like an up-and-comer
in our domestic scene a little while ago playing in that that Natchamps and that. And he
never really took that step up to the next
team. So he kind of
came back out of the blue, back
onto this Mindfreak roster. And I'm not sure
what the reason for that was whether he was
like doing some personal stuff studying or something like that but
after not competing in cs for a while he comes back uh gets picked up on this
mine free team i don't think he's even all pink like he used to be an AWPer and shows some promises in AWP.
And...I think you said Payne is the AWPer for Mindfreak?
I haven't actually watched this roster play too much.
Yeah yeah so that's how it's going. So essentially slimy
I think took time off from the hsc to finish his studies and when that was done
he was like well you know a lot of time now so i'm gonna play cs again managed to still be pretty
bloody good when he came back managed to slot into this spot on the
team i think they needed an orpa so he was
initially the orpah and then they were like well we got an opportunity to pick
up pain let's make him the orpa and slimy
we like you when you're in the rifle so he had to shift his positions around and it's
it's been a bit of a period finding comfort for slimy but it's like it's working out right he's
very sharp and can also be that secondary or if they do play any maps i saw that they managed
to slap um vantage on dust2 the other day so it looks like they're going to be going into
that and thus two is a great map to go for that double op setup. I think
for Mindfreak, it's like they've got
Tux who at times has been the best
player in the country
and obviously for reasons he
didn't necessarily
ever, it was kind of
limited to what he could do because of the
VAC ban status and all that kind of stuff but
undoubtedly he's even been
post a child of
AUCS
on the IEM posters and all that
kind of stuff, and he's achieved some
great results upsetting some overseas
teams. He's got plenty of domestic
and international LAN experience. He is
valuable, he's
like gold to this Mindfreak team
And then for me, every other player they picked up
although Payne is more of a recent
thing that I haven't kept my finger on the pulse of the
domestic tier 2 scene as much. Pretty
much every other player, if you're going to... You can put
Pain in that stand-up because you're probably
more familiar with him having
kicked it around an FPL and all that kind of stuff.
But every other player, Gump, Super, Slimy
are players that I've seen in Natchamps over the seasons
and I've seen play and be like,
that guy's pretty good at his role
or at this specific thing on a team
that shouldn't really be very much
he does well for himself
so I just have usually liked the players
that Mind Freak have chosen
over the various iterations of the roster and it seems like it's continually
coming together. Yeah, it's been a long period that a lot of these players have been developing
especially since the whole covered online age
but look we got the predictions which we can have a quick look at here as well
and i feel like there's going to be no
surprises billy and i've both gone for fly quest because they are just the
favorites and look if we want to go for a percentage,
I'm still feeling like 95% of the time
they should be winning
but there is still a 5% chance for me
that Mindfreak play well.
I don't think I've ever seen
a team like Mindfreak upset
A team like FlyQuest in a qualification game
Like this, do or die
And I've watched them since the start of GO
I've never seen it happen
And I don't think today's going to be the day
In this position right right? Where it's
like they're in the lower bracket, yes there
has been that first upset but the second
upset just never seems to happen
so... This would be historic
especially in FlyQuest's form. There is no signs that point to the fact they're going to be dropping this qualification
We'll get straight into the game though and we'll kick it off with a classic A execute
Got a triple setup here,
under valve stairs
and tripled to fight for the FlyQuest
as this execute comes out
Oh my Lordens!
That is straight into the action Vexite's gonna be trying to lock it in with the jewelies, finds that second
out of pain, spin it around thinking maybe that dropout came but it's just Gump and Salami trying
to make this one work. Salami won't be able
to escape
and for lack of a better
coming out of the gate
showing they mean business
pistols were a weakness
last night Mitch
remember that
yeah it's going to be
demoralising
for uh
for Mindfreak to go straight into this first gun round and get shot down this hard.
You can see they have a very clear plan, like those are not meta smokes across mid-site
and under stairs.
Mindfreak had a clear plan of what they wanted to execute there, but it never got going.
They got absolutely dumpstered right out the gates.
And MindFreak very clearly sending a message, the momentum already in their favour
and Mindfreak are going to have to show us some serious resilience today.
Well that last question was coming through having to play out that firebox,
as well as underneath the balcony.
They do a little bit of a counter-strike.
And just here, out of the gates, Mindfreak making a lot of noise
and Pain taking a lot of damage.
But Tux in the corner has found ali going well too aggressive yeah those are
the kind of kills like ali's clearly playing hyper acro trying to get in the face of them not for
confidence early on those are the kind of kills you need to continue to get
just continue to punish that aggression and aggression out of fly quest and
keep them honest that's a be the mopper.
So, see you later blocky boys!
That MP9 not going to find any more action from Mindfree
and Black West with the 2-0 start is going to give them a little bit of confidence.
Some rifles, decent weapons brought in previous will be carried across here so
a little bit of a bonus round gonna be coming through.
Let's see what Mindfreak has got to do with their forward.
Yeah, for me this game from mindfreak is about just getting a learning experience in you know
Just being in this kind of environment
being this kind of match it's the kind of thing that you have to
learn for yourself. How it feels what capable of
early mid pressure with the U2 here for Mindfreak.
See FlyQuest exchanging their own smoke, Dexter's going to get some info
Over in towards A ramp he has already pushed quite deep there
And MindFreak towards A ramp has already pushed quite deep there. Mind freak, skipping I and B apartments and
starting to make some moves towards middle here.
Nice opening.
Makes light the Fragger so far for Clark, where 6 kills in 2 rounds is now out of this one.
Things will get a little awkward as Inz is still here in the window.
Should be a free upgrade to an ak if mind freak don't lock him in and you're not going to dummy can't quite spot him as
that smoke's in the way just runs through a smoke drive with a molly towards unders
it's not a play you're ready for a super gets caught off guard by that that's a
nice trade though he's been boosted up into window, got his way towards ladder.
And he has actually punished that aggression now a two-man aggression on Brick side
and my Frick very much just holding passive for further pushes
They've got a player on stairs, player on ladder room here that can try to come out
Oop
I'm not ready at that time unfortunately
With that contact it's just going to be the pump back
the other way knowing two players were on short
Mindfreak, mollied off at Con for
the moment and nade straight onto Dexter
is gonna be enough to force him
into ladder. Slammy finds
him there through the crawlspace.
But FlyQuest with 15 seconds have both of their defenders here.
Ali withholding, not seen but will be taken out
and it's a beautiful round to close for Mindfreak.
He killed some Tux.
Good stuff from Mindfreak
to keep their heads on
straight there.
Very poor, forced up an M4A1S
last round so down to 1700.
That is the round that puts the economic pressure on MyFreak
and despite a couple of hiccups,
a couple of random kerb pulls being thrown in there by FlyQuest
trying to play confident and aggressive.
Mindfreak's still showing they're resilient enough to navigate their way through the mid-round, even
when the timer is getting low and not overlooking those cheeky little positions
that can end a round if unchecked.
This is a sweet round
Both teams low on the loss bonus and low on cash. No utility left over from Black Vex, 3 smokes and a flash down
Into A ramp completely catches slimy that's gonna be a rifle picked up by vexat that he didn't have access to before
apologies if you can hear the crying um dog in the background
someone must have walked on her street again.
She really wanted Mindfreak to win this round and it's not going well.
Yeah, big slimy fan.
Well... still a chance to get the man down, but...
With this position you'd expect them to only really want to try and hit this B site with a split.
FlyQuest are ready in's already on the fast rotate here in Market
Dextre not too far away in jungle so it can stack it in a heartbeat
yeah and the bomb is making its way to the back there's three on beat next up my deck side there
is going to creep through and find another.
Well traded by Pain, good spacing but they've still got three players to get through on this B site here Mac
Yeah... Ali is in a solid position to deal with it
But it's Lias who needs to get traded out here
Spotted, super, can't get around the corner and in as we mentioned earlier, the fast rotate locks
him in. Three of light at the end and three on the board for FlyQuest
Missed opportunity at the reset from Mindfreak. They're only on
the single eco though 2.4k loss. We've got Pain who you can see on replay has put up
extra cash to actually get a hero rifle or something of that nature, try and do some damage. Drop
some pistols over the boys perhaps? Well here's the AWPer as well, he might just want that
extra cash for the AWP fund next gun round.
So, mind freak just getting some dekes to see if they can take a gun or two away and
not try to do anything too crazy this round. Taking the time to discuss.
I think you can see my intrigue from the way they're playing, oh that's nasty.
Super a bit unlucky to go down to that you can see their anticipation
They've double holding the B push
Tapping won't be able to beat the Glock there, had...
minimal bullets left in the clip to make it happen and tucks.
Going fast unfortunately. Fast to the grave.
Slimey in a 1v4 with just a deagle.
I'm gonna give him one at best, if he gets spotted here
we'll get three men's fun and that's exactly what happens.
Ali takes his head right off
And it's a very solid start for FlyQuest
With the 3 round lead.
Kane's got the ult power, held over extra cash to make sure he'd
have that heading into the next gun round. That's a great round for
FlyQuest to stabilise their economy.
See the cash on the replay getting a little low
for all of the boys, so four alive in that round is massive
for them.
Really going to cook mindfree through their faces
on this T-side now.
Smoke is being thrown by Super here.
They should have stopped me at the next site.
Looking like he's going to get set up by Inza's flash here, or maybe Ali?
Ali is gonna flash him up top. That was actually an underpass flash and he picks dry.
Aggression on A ramp in the meanwhile,
this has copped a lot of damage next site pushing top mid gun
was nowhere near ready for that and
that's a pick in unders as well really disruptive there i mean hey just
going dry for the most part catching them all off and now it's just
gonna be one pronged approach at A mind freak can they even wave of defenders here ali takes pain out
of the equation and slimy on six hp this is super wants to trade him swinging He's got horse contact, Slimy swinging,
will find one
and the double!
Okay!
Now we're cooking soup
on the trade game.
Brings it to the 1-on-1
and with a minute
on the clock
Leaz swings from CT
to get a nice timed
trade
and lock it in for Blackbest.
Hell of a round from Slimey though, almost
brought them back from a two-man deficit
off the bat. As you mentioned
as soon as that top mid player and the
unders players were lost,
That was a 3 on 5. And Slimey by the way when he gets his three cables like 30 HP
No 6HP full blind!
Yeah, ridiculous.
Unreal Yeah, ridiculous. Two there. Unreal.
But still not a round.
Good economy pressure nonetheless and Mindfreak now investing
a fair bit in this round to try to keep that economy
pressure on they've got an A-executed mindgump,
it's just applying some util pressure to mid first, and out comes the exit.
Fast! Fast gone dry and we're going to get this one over and done with.
Inns will fall, Pedefs is here to trade 8 and 5.
Oh the flash is good but the shots are not. And Super will be able to punish Dexter for that play.
Still plenty of it for Mindfreak in the round
and some footsteps starting to make their way towards CT
They're gonna try to get the plant money, but there's no cover.
Dump at range with an MP9...
We'll lose that fight.
Still put two guns away.
Doing a classic of just keeping things pretty competitive. Gonna take
attack timeout, they still have a window here to get back into this T side but
it's starting to get a little bit too far away you know gotta
win you know one of the next two gun rounds I think start to make a dent in
his half otherwise it's gonna be pretty one-sided school lot
i'm gonna fly quest money dexter is gonna buy and then they're gonna have
like four players with two plus k and one player who's broke. So,
With 1400 loss bonus that's literally 2 buys
Like Flyfest has this buy if they get reset they can reinvest it then
they're broke so mindfre freak the goal here is very much
These next two to three gun rounds
You got either with two in a row or you've got to keep them really close
Really competitive and keep the press on keep reinvesting so you can create that reset window
and try to bring this back from like a 5-7 4-8 kind of situation Change up for my freak after the attack timeout.
Being very active towards middle, slow kind of defaulty player living in the fresh towards A main. This time a mid
take with multiple flashes. Broken smoke inside window punished well by Tux.
Yeah doesn't quite work out as intended.
That's like breaking the smoke for Inz but
it doesn't work in their favour and Dexter getting to be playing around the box has
to try get the reload on which he will do
just in time that locked into the corner
It's an easy trade for gump
two men push through apps here ali takes slimy out and that's going to be one of
the wing players down with a bomb at the back of apartments
it gets awkward super starting to make his way back through underpass we'll
have a fight in just a moment but how's this timing oh the crosshair goes towards apps
and vexite might be able to find even more you're're just hitting it.
Yeah, you can hear the TV room player. That's it, he's going for two.
I love this. Does he get cleared? No one looking at him.
Oh no! He's done it!
The problem with an M4, you see
right there. Crosshair in
the perfect spot but a dink from behind
knocks the head forward so
second bullet didn't connect.
And now there's a chance that Mindfreak can maybe make this happen even though FlyQuest know everything.
Yeah, it's Ali on the site here with an AWP.
Late to timing.
Yeah, one missed timing could be the end of it and Pain might have countered it.
There's the util pressure out from apps.
Oh!
Shot miss though in the 5-7.
Playing a lot of pressure here both of these players are so low.
The molly will kill him!
And now it's up
to Payne, who's getting crept upon from
App's side and he's full tunnel
visioned. Well played round from Flashbest
in the end but
that got really close. Much closer than I thought it would have been.
It should've been right? Just one of those things.
XITE plays it perfectly, but yeah. What can you say?
Did he care? That shot from Super, that one where he flicked around after getting dinked
This shot from super you'll probably see here in the replays.
He's the one that almost saved the round for my read.
I'm not sure if this is a good idea, but it's still pretty cool. Like look at the model.
Not even as bad in CS as it is in the cartoon shooter, there's so many weird animations
in that game.
It's a cat aggression, it's a lot for FlyQuest, just one flash off the top.
I've just found Alyx and meanwhile untraded by Pain though, the double cat swing has been really good for FlyQuest
at just breaking these defaults
Locking in
Inz
Loses to SwiftPeak from Super
Who are going to try and retake mid
from bottom mid, and it's worked out.
Super is sharp right now.
Him and Slimey are my favourite players
within 0.01 rating of each other they're both playing extremely well
that's just the case in this game that was almost the perfect round out
of mind freak but because the moldlly was there, Slimey's
gone for the peak for the info, Leaz hits
a crispy one and
Super is now behind the eight ball
I don't know if anyone's heard him
running there at top mid, doesn't seem to be the case.
But he will retrieve the package and with 45 on the clock to get somewhere
and get this bomb planted it looks like if he goes B he will be making the right read.
He's chosen the right site here.
Gonna be a long rotation out from Lias.
Full belt of utilityils for both of these players see where he's gonna
choose the after plant
hopefully I was very much committing to A here.
So, just a mid-sight player he can defend that from a lot of different spots.
Just gonna choose the play bench though.
Leo's going as quickly as he can up short.
Molly, Smoke and Flash.
We'll see where the molly decides to go.
Doesn't even get used!
Supa facing behind that smoke
And Lias gets caught right off
Well played round from Superb, big shots
4k and look if it's
going to take that for Mindfreak to consistently
get these T side rounds then I'd be a little
bit worried but
hey we'll see how many we get
They fought their way out of that one like Superb But, I mean... Hey! We'll see how many we get.
They fought their way out of that one.
Like Superb recognized what the setup was and broke it down a little bit you know?
Yeah.
Like FlyQuest definitely making the right moves to win that round.
And now they're very resettable, this is what I was talking about
if Mind Freak win this round they break the money
and then 7-5's a possibility
They have been getting pummeled in this game but
they've been consistently pitching in the kills
you know keeping the economy on us. They just need
that reset window. Double
aggression into Palace here. Slimey has got
to defend this and he's caught with a molly out.
Climbing pretty mean worst for Slimey. You can see what he was angling for and the molly as well towards A main just cracks this XC completely in half
This is where Galm has to activate on the wing, like they canceled this a every day of
the week they saw the two-man aggression that's at least three players
is he expecting someone stairs side as well gump knowing that b
is the weak side we are still here with a full belt of utility and an MP9
I like this
And FlyQuest are quite happy to just chill
with the setup they have, they've just pushed Palace
They've just got info so the rotations will be coming to B
but the execs already here Oh, Mind Freak going loud
and Liyah's gonna be dropping the Molinaid combo
to try to keep them at bay and buy some time for rotations
Him living
empty is so crucial to this round
Payne... nice angle found and they're gonna be able
to almost lock it back in 3v2 though and the bomb yet to be planted 40 on
the clock nice flash across the top and Ali is
right out towards the bin side T Tux, the veteran, needs to
take this one out and we'll find
one of the three but there's still two more
prongs to find.
One of course flashing across the top of Market
and this one here on short!
Oh it's awkward but Dexter wins it eventually You're one of the Cinderella storyline though
Tots 1v3 against some of his former teammates
Playing on a lesser team to break the money that would would have been massive. That would've been a game-changing round to win
but
unfortunately no magic made this time
Good call from Mindfreak to try and consolidate that 4-5 after the Palace peek came in.
Had that Lurker on the extremity, Gump gave them a contingency plan to play into but...
Unfortunately just could not close the xvx Alright, now actually out mid. Mindfreak not ready for alley.
Doing an alley thing, pushing through that smoke on a timing and this eco gets torn to shreds in relatively quick fashion. 20 seconds big round
Yeah
And this is where like the scoreline doesn't tell how close some of these rounds have been, but overall this is still an absolute stomp from FlyQuest.
As expected.
There are moments here and there though that you see the potential for mindfreak.
I've seen some big individual multi-frags but overall...
This is why FlyQuest are the most dominant team in the region. They're just better,
more experienced, you know used to playing CS at a higher level
I know all the meta plays like an underpass push with the B anchor flashing
over the top is not something you're ready for as a live freak you probably wouldn't have seen it.
Good stuff from Payne though to peg a pick back at least.
Nice farming. Unfortunately not ready for Dexter, over towards Tetris there
Advanced position towards A main
Keeps it close, three remaining for both these sides now
That's one of those things where it's just like too fast to check
which player you killed and that's a tough one to get away from
Super missing another smoke push but Lias was at the ready.
Now they've lost an advantage.
I think just trying to work a pick individualistically. Gump applies some pressure towards B, gets smoked off
He's been able to walk up but that shot needed to go down the jungle player is gonna take him out and jump. Throwing a
market smoke... A very sad market smoke looks like it's probably 10-2 here
unless he comes up with something magical. Well Le Leah's nicely placed.
Molly
is maneuvering
just around
all these pillars.
Dom finds the first
but he has to go
for the reload
and that'll be
nailing the coffin
10-2
for the half eight rounds of the gap let's see what mine
three can do to maybe find some hope in the second but that's coming up after the break so so so so.
.
. so so ¶¶ so so. so so We'll see you next time. so so so We are back for a second half here for ESL Challenger League Season 47 Finals, and FlyQuest
are up by eight. So see if it's going to be a quick half we'll
see if it's gonna be a short half mind freak taking a pistol will certainly keep their spirits
alive but this push through the back of Aps is going to allow a fast
flank from many members, maybe?
Yeah, they know it's...
I don't know exactly what's going on.
It's just a retake setup. Slimey's got a kit smoke
but FlyQuest digging themselves into jungle close con and planting open for triple
Yeah, certainly makes it a little more difficult for Mind Reap to find a successful retake
And that pick makes things even harder.
A little short now, Tarq's just gonna be dropping a nade in there
Flak to try and maybe help someone else out
Awkward for Inz now he is going to get pincered
And he's just gonna run away
Play the timing game
Dexter finds his and Payne
finally activated on the flank but
won't quite find that firebox
member. Crispy shots
unfortunately runs out
of bullets in the clip and that is going to be 11 on the board.
So both of those pistols in the back pocket for FlyQuest has put him
in a very good position to close out this map very quickly.
You can see though that
he was anticipating the peeks
very well there Payne, like you knew
He takes his first guy
makes contact with the firebox guy
unpeeks him
and ready even for that bottom stairs
guy Like, you could see the clocks are turning and ready even for that bottom stairs kai
like you can see the comps are turning
You've seen a couple of rounds
Like that from different mindfreak players
where they're able to multi-frag
They're clued on pretty well
That's kind of thing that i like to see but uh
the score line says it all at the moment unfortunately mac there's nothing i can
say about mind free change the way this game's going.
Yeah, and that makes it even harder unfortunately. Pain didn't catch a nice timing but he caught
a few bullets and now its gonna be...
...with a main control.
Maybe you can think of things a little bit awkward here
Tux is going to be able to snatch one away in the meanwhile
Gump as well falling in CT
so there's going to be some map control for FlyQuest
to take as we see Mindfreak as well with the mid.
Trying to make their way up Con, and then what have we got? One flash, one smoke, no kits...
Super with that U-tilt.
Making use of it is going to be tough, It has been an absolute nuisance in FlyQuest Letting that time tick down to see if the CTs make any mistakes
Seeing they are dug-in here at PAL, at Default and Super
Hoping he can find an angle
Bit of damage on the alley and Super hoping he can find an angle. Damage on to Ali...
Ooh, okay! He's cooking!
He's been pretty bloody good for Mindfreak
so far, and Ali is low
5-7 in hand.
Allie hoping he can catch a timing.
Triple, and he will get the job done super.
Couldn't flick back fast enough.
One round needed to make it a dominant affair To open up this lower bracket final
FlyQuest all business right now
Some pushback from my freak
But they're just not ready for a game of this caliber. This is the first
time that I've really been in a position of qualification and really, in a log bracket
you should definitely be playing Rooster or BNK here.
You should not have to play FlyQuest in this game
to qualify for the second seed
uh...the second seed for Pro League
You know it is what it is.
I'm doing the best i can
I've had some decent rounds here and there but this body
Is not the kind of buy you want to be looking at
To try to fight for your life here on
Your pick Against the best team in the region
fly quest one four vexite like pressure to mid info is being denied over there
with a top bottom mid smoke the rest of flight
press group up in towards b apps as Vexite goes loud up conk.
Well done, well done and this is the place you wanted! Almost a third onto Inz.
XM dealing to Pain Train and
Inz with bench control, it's gonna be a bit more awkward for FlyGaz
Try and close it out here and now pain gonna be
swinging i'm just looking for any more info vexite a while away on 16 points of health
and pains also managed to make his way to jay, the info, good!
And Pain can almost lock it right in.
One more bullet onto Vexite will get this one...
...disturbed.
That was a good round for me to slide into.
Ends up being quite costly. As well as Pain. That's a good round for me.
As well as paint.
That XM took two and some change, honestly
on that angle really, really well done
And then the subsequent site flood after that initial like he just stayed alive for so long that it lets these guys start to scale out market when
bombs drop and things get messy.
So that's not bad for Mindfreak.
He can make it for himself in the third round
And that will break the money of FlyQuest They're going to choose to even up their cash by spending it all.
This is an armour that's utiled out here. Mid info
is there. I think that's not where the Molotov want to land
but they are gonna figure pretty quickly that mid's clear and this is going to be an Okay, so these Technons are making this harder than intended Mindfreak.
And now they're gonna be able to have the CT control bomb planted for it.
What've we got in terms of util here?
No kit for Mind Freak.
There might be one on the ground and there's a smoke flash nade on Pain who is coming through
PAL.
The util might not be as effective as we want here.
And Vexite doesn't seem to be aware that it's going to be the Pelflank,
so Mindfreak will play this together and they should win
against Blackquest.
Ooh! Hit shots like that
and now he's getting a bit awkward.
They're lining up here here we could be said and
done vexite playing the time and with a kit picked up from super does he stick it he's gonna
go forward oh and that'll be that nice try from mindfreak but unfortunately fly quests were just better this time
13 to 3 gonna be the scoreline mirage what can you do three of them have 180 are almost as
100 a yard you can't be the team where
four people have 180 are like this is
not gonna actually for my great class in
this game they don't...
The majority of them outside attacks have the experience
Of being in a qualification game like this against a team of FlyQuest
Calibre and still be a learning
experience for them. But you know what?
There were some good rounds in there, there were some
good reads. It was a one-sided
game but not in the sense where
it felt like every round was hopeless to me.
I don't know if I'm just looking at this one with Rose thinking fast,
it's like their scoreline says they got slapped
But...I dunno man there's something there. There's something there I think
Yeah, I hope that know gets a bit cleaned up moving into the second but there were a lot of those one bxs 1v1s that came down to in a
lot around so mindfreak really keeping some of them close and the scoreline not reflecting how good they
played. So honestly I hope we get to see a little bit more of them, it's not another one side
of the fair going into map two because otherwise it's gonna be a very quick night for
them and that's not the way you want to get out especially or maybe it is because otherwise it's going to be a very quick night for them.
And that's not the way you want to get out, especially...
Well, maybe it is. It's Saturday night.
Look, it's a long weekend.
Could be a good idea.
I didn't even realise it was a long weekend,
to be honest.
But yeah, end of the day. We'll take a look at Slimey's stats for this game
as he was the Qadir player to watch.
He actually had some pretty good multi-frag rounds here
I think two or three big rounds off the top of my head.
The round downstairs where he
multi-fragged. He had the round with the XM.
I think he had another round on
T side as well. So
a good couple of rounds from him but uh obviously when you get 13-2, 13-3
the reality is no one on your team has good stats because everyone's getting some.
Yeah it's it is hard so look doing as good as he could really up against flyquest on a map like
mirage and at least you got a little highlight towards the end the xm play you know that little
3k kept them in it for a one round at least
in the second half but unfortunately from there it was downhill pretty
bloody quick fly quest now moving into the map pick is
going to make things even more awkward unless mind Mindfreak are happy.
What do you think? Do you think they're going to be going for that T-side
start on the Nubis? Yeah, for sure.
Look, it's a map
that I remember them playing yonks ago
but yeah, like I said you said in the last six months i played a couple
times the last three months though very few competitive reps in officials and again only
one against like a team that's not that great.
It's probably not going to have them very much fit for this Anubis game.
Yeah, well it'll be an interesting affair and we'll see how it goes
for them but of course we got to go to a break before
we jump into the second map
of the series so we'll see you after this for map two anubis so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so.. Thank you. so so so. so so so so Thank you. you you do so so so so so so so so so so so you. so so so so so so Welcome back to ESL Challenger League Season 47 for Oceania.
We're one map deep in the lower bracket final,
and it's been an interesting affair because mindfreak have kept it close in rounds
but in terms of the scoreline it was extremely one-sided to flyquest
but moving into a nubus we might get a similar thing
We might get something a little bit different depending on how Mindfreak
start out of the gates
and if they can win
a pistol,
that can certainly
change up the scoreline.
Yeah,
I think like the Browns
are going to continue
to be close probably.
You know, the Mind Freak players seem switched on enough
to keep things competitive here and there
And we saw that on Mirage
I think really the scoreline diff is going to come down exactly like you said,
to pistols.
I agree but also just the xvx's and some of the my group players need to
crunch up some of these rounds because that was really
a big difference on Mirage.
Well, let's see how this one goes.
Unfortunate dink onto Dexter.
This is going to be the B split through mid-window.
We'll see if Leazza's ready for this one, fast left side smoke
there and he has not found anything but it is going to be the cancel and a lot of noise made
but its also drawn out a huge rotation. Vexite in the meanwhile somehow behind enemy lines
and with the site control the bomb's gonna go this way.
So Mindfreak ends up accidentally wasting time, wasting seconds!
But Slimey is going to be able
to team-up with the rest of the boys
and find three picks just like that
and it's Vexite in a 1v4
Big flank,
and they seem to be aware
that he could be coming from B main.
Yeah, I mean,
it's unlucky
he was in the perfect position.
His whole team died
before he could have any impact.
He's still going to give this
1v4 a crack though. I don't know if there is
a pistol, or kit rather dropped somewhere. He's trying to isolate these duels bait out
Mindfreak over peaking a little bit too much but slimy is still gonna put him
down. That's a big pistol for mindfreak
I think the T-pistol
for an underdog team
is one of the most important rounds to win
less so on the map
it's more T-bfights but just allows you to,
on the side where you have to play confidently
and assertively and make plays happen
no matter what. It just gets you off
in the right mindset, you know?
Gets you holding the W key with the Glocks. You get yourself a successful
strat into an anti-eco, you bully some blokes so you can't shoot back for a little bit and
that always just makes the boys feel good, you know?
Yeah.
Can't see what they're going to be able to do.
Worth mentioning while we're chilling here that the other day Slimey
I think did make it
number one on the Old Faceit leaderboard.
And at the moment it's Vexart sitting second with Netic on top, so
there has been a little shuffle around. I think it might have also
been while...
Maybe someone else was out of the country. Either way, this one
we wouldn't really have to talk about and it looks like
we don't. The USPs unfortunately
unlike yesterday not finding that value in the hands of
FlyQuest and Mindfreak,
it's a fortunate one for them. Look, they win
the pistol, they get into this round,
smack that one out, only losing 1 individual
and let's see what they can do with the bonus because you have to assume
they're going to go for that before they've got into this. Yeah I just want to see them
showcase what they got a little bit more at least scoreline wise than what we saw on Mirage.
Yeah and here's the football fly quests no kids yeah a little bit lighter in
util than they might like and they're actually going to start three towards bridge here early on with a deep smoke
in mid there playing a one-three-one mind freak on the other hand
keeping our beam main they've taken a lot of space on aim man and they're
applying some deep util pressure, similar to the pistol.
Just taking a lot of control
and applying a lot of pressure in one part
of the map early on to try to draw a reaction
and in this case push across bridge
but you can see my brick is aware of that and Tux
similar to what we saw on Mirage
punishing that early mid-race from FlyQuest
into the meanwhile
he's not going to get mullied here, but he will get found.
Nice readjustment from Pain there on the offline.
Inz couldn't find him.
FlyQuest...
Let's see if they can get this equaliser or At least one to try and get close to that.
Dexter finds Gump going dry through the smoke,
there was a flash which blinded up Dexta but unfortunately
the timing was not great!
Except Slimey is locked onto the sound through
the smoke there dexter ends up getting one for one and the
bomb gonna be retrieved in canal look at there's been a
smoke push there's been an awkward moment today main
and ali now is in behind enemy lines
so it's 3 for Payne who didn't see
that push come through. And this should be
a mind-free ground on the 1v3
There's a lot of smoke pushing going on here
It really is I don't hate them,
I can...I mean the gunpoint I hated that but
um the other one was all right. Well 5v3 and he just missed it through
the mid smoke. I understand like there's gaps on the map,
in 5 v 3 it takes timing but maybe a little bit better with the up and up frame numbers.
Regardless they still win the round, they still make it work.
If you want to go deeper into it I think the theory would have been
They were making a lot of noise at A main, got that pick onto Inns,
so Gant might've thought
that the mid player should have rotated
but Dexter wanted to mid control.
But works out for Mindfreak regardless. So they will be 3-0 keeping it pretty damn clean and that was the bonus round remember? They barely reinvested into that.
Yeah I mean, Mach 10 Galil 3 AKs and they come out of it with a handful of rifles
Very sharp shooting already from Slammy and Pain, you can see that from them.
I think they... like you could tell by the way these guys are playing
They're not swayed by getting stopped on Mirage
They even felt like they had some grounds where they could shoot back
when they were playing decently enough and I don't know if it's Tux or whether these players
just believe that they can go toe to toe with FlyQuest a little bit despite the first map, but
you can see it in the way they're playing.
Still playing with bomb, mechanics are still on point
not scared of taking these duels one for one one early on, Trux has lost his life through
the ridge smoke there.
This main aggression continues!
I'm... uh...
Not ready rather, slimy there for that B main peek.
This is gonna get awkward, they've got the allies here and the timing doesn't work for Ali.
You could tell he really wanted to turn around but didn't risk showing a silence
or anything at that point
trying to get his hands on the M4
from Leaz. But now on the
3v2 there's a lot of space
here on B for Mindfreak to get this
one done. But in the meanwhile, you've got Inz rotating
in through mid. He's going to be able to find himself an upgrade
at some point and Dexter as well
with an AK so we will see a 2 million
retake attempt from Bmate.
Yeah. It was as he mentioned a care there for ins that he can pick up
see if you can find it to Molly's F and fly quest the nice timing for Dexter
catch him super completely unawares
two players playing those ebox positions and the molly going into the back sight positions
not what they might have expected and a a nice post plant, I love that!
Pain taking point hiding gump on the swing after contact.
Well played protocols and that's going to put four on the board here for Mindfreak. Good man
Really dominant run so far in this T side
They've kept their economy pretty strong
as well
I'm loving what i'm seeing from mine free
Where that gun guys
To look deeper into T spawn.
Either way, fast smoke to A main, house and E box has always been mated. Full smokes on the map here for Mindfreak.
Trying to play a lot of Inferno Nile.
Dumping a lot of U-Kill in the early
to mid round. Trying to feel out
what FlyQuest is doing and force out
a bit of a reaction.
Mindfreak very much still splitting the map here.
Waiting for peeks, looking for a pick
particularly on B.
Pain's posted up at all
trying to catch one of these CTt players in transition across the inbox unfortunately he's
the one poor that is very unfortunate for pain try to get that util out as well now a smoke will deny
the split for a moment but they're just just gonna push straight through and that's going to be touched up in
The palm of the hands of the CTs Gump getting naded
This has gone wrong for mindfreak
But at least they kept it clean at the start, so they got plenty for the next round.
Slimey could still do some financial damage here.
Definitely has the potential to do so.
Isolating these 1v1s is going to be very important. It's gonna be hard too.
Crosshair placement, your mechanics are looking as clean
as slimings are right now!
I don't know if that's even true. Honestly, like these
guys are looking so crisp right now. And this is like the only thing going on about it is
it doesn't happen with them guys. Like the amount of teams...
like B and K included that get absolutely domed
On the first map and not look that confident
Going into the second map this is something else for my freak maybe it's like that nothing to lose kind of
mentality they're like what can we really do we got stumped on mirage let's
like at least try and turn up
And do something a little better on Anubis
So far they've already done better
I mean, they're taking more rounds already
In the first five Yeah.
He's that fast!
Work smoke towards B main, he has at least one to hit so no-one is going to get up for the early rotation.
And just that smokebang battle going down mid as well.
Painz got the AWP again on the T side investing in that twice and he's doing this classic kind of walk up on inbox trying to catch the ct with
util in hand and that's exactly what it does gonna trade his second one though oh
it's going to get molly off so one for one still pretty good for the T so
That in the fire up this round next up gets traded to and we're down to three B two
We guys upgrade into the a K quickly and tucks in the meanwhile, looking to go and make some noise at A while Pain continues to force this push into E-box.
B main control for FlyQuest though makes this very difficult for him to try and convert
Yeah Payne really just trying to get that one pick that can maybe put Tux into an easy after plan on A.
Essentially what's going on here, but...
You can see, unless they're looking for a pick in mid,
Leoz has pushed him to the main and he's so switched on, dude. unless they're looking for a pick in mid, Lias is pushing B main.
He's so switched on dude.
Just checks B main
now getting deeper onto the line and this
exactly it! B pick gets taken he's
got a deep lane and Tux is just going to get a free afterplan on A.
Well maybe...
Payne might be able to find ins here for free, he'll have to scope again
Oh! And that timing is unreal.
Purely perfect until that happens.
He's gone through the smoke that's been told to him
And with tux going down things get even more difficult
But don't know the pain is here
I have no readAD on him,
I thought...
...he's put around there!
Is that the- ah, that might be
the play? Nah it's not is it
you always gotta kill that guy
and they get a 2 on 1
I could see what he was going for
He overthought it a bit
Cucks just need to kill ins going through the smoke
And then he can hear the second one
I can understand like why
you would make that play
Inz, I don't think naded inside
of the smoke so I think Inz has just caught
Tux running through that smoke
Yeah might have been there. I think Tux was pretty low as well
He's only on like 30 HP so
maybe not so easy for him to win that
Tux was at the top of stairs
and I don't know if Inz just did an underarm
flash and ran it in himself, knowing there'd only be one
player on site. But either way, it worked out for BlackWareSkull.
Still hard to think of a better matchup than this one though, not sure. There's the hero
Rykelonpain. He very much is trying to take the hard carry mode role right now, so my tree can make some impact happen and so far so good
Have a chance at a big on to Dexter there
That's now gonna pick up the eight
They find some more impact than he is able to punish that side, but not before two of his teammates fall.
Yeah.
Look one or two more kills with the hero AK and that's fine as far as I'm concerned
And I like what they're doing Gump is just being a decoy grenade at this point.
FlyQuest have every bit of info, I swear Lea has heard both of them running but
they don't seem to be in full belief of that.
Is the Inn still worried about
what's happening over to Macca?
And Ali now spotting
the jiggle, Gump going to be able
to cross over to Maccas
and Tuck's now hoping he can maybe Gump going to be able to cross over to Maccas.
And Tuck's now hoping he can maybe have a better angle than Ali. Ali doesn't bite off more then he can chew, falls back!
We'll play this one a little more safely with Leo's by his side.
I mean, we had a discussion about who should V and K pick up
And...I don't know man
The way that life is playing right now
I'm not sure they need to pick up anybody
Uh...Mindfree's keeping a roster as is
They're gonna win this round! This is unreal
This was a hero AK Ind probably individually going and taking duels across the
map but that's the one it was so close it's crazy that they kept that just closed though
and taking four guns away from fly quest here is massive macos look at the money they've got to
reinvest it empty their bank accounts on all of these players just to buy into their next round
what's the loss minus 1900 that's reset potential earned by Mindfreeze. And that wasn't even Payne like Payne force bought that AK right down to $900 and he wasn't even the one to use it.
It's good to see Mind Tree, you know, most of them
all switched on right now having a very solid
performance here because every time
we usually see them it feels like maybe there's two people switched on.
But today, it feels like everyone is sort of having a round right?
Gotta be. No room for error against FlyQuest and even though they are all switched on
It's lapped in the server. Pain is not though, Pain I mean
DexLight has actually been a bit of liability at EvoX to be honest.
He's been very aggressive been first picking him every time.
He was on that secondary oil, but he smoked it off.
Payne... ooh gets tagged up by the molly
Peeking into Inz is generally never gonna go well but it did this time pain
is getting those openings gump falling might have changed up the plant and slimy will be
picking up the package we can deliver it it towards A. Dexter gets cleared but pain doesn't go through the full effort-
full event that makes things a little more awkward for Tux who's here on his own and
the bomb on the ground makes it a round that is mostly unwinnable yeah i think tuck's just kind of in
disbelief that dexter still running at him through double doors but true that
is the confidence that being on FlyQuest affords you.
Super 1-on-3
Kind of a weird play here
He's gonna get Dexter for free but
This is what I need about them
Being switched on. Yeah, they're doing everything right.
They always anticipate the second player
like I feel when we are watching mindfreak players
take a heads up duel with someone
they are clued on you know
there's certain players that like against most
teams certain positions rather that fly close to play I feel like it gets most
teams they just get unchecked and lose around but my freak less common these guys are pretty clued on most of this
round I'm loving it yeah you have to agree there you could also tell you know
with Dexter letting that happen
getting shot in the back
that's when Super's like hang on
someone's here for sure
100% I mean it's already
that's fighting sense
Payne is continuing to go
I'm getting a free killer E-box every round.
Imma go E-Box again.
Can he just get this timing on a swing with all his noise being made over mid?
Maybe it's exactly the
distraction that he needs, and it's Gump to take
him at range! Oh now he's got an orb
hold on this is another... I would
usually say like this is never a winnable round
for my free but this is like... Gump just jiggled and one beat him from bloody t-stairs
brain's got it all this could be a reset round if they make this work, Mindfreak, this is a reset.
Deagles?
Ooh!
Do more than enough.
Do more than enough.
He is on.
What is going on?
He's a deagle player and in in the 2v2 Mindfreak could cause
a bit of hullabaloo to FlyQuest's
economy. It is in the bin if they lose
this.
Yeah deep left side mid smoke little bit bit of util pressure but Inz is well and truly
on that info line.
There's the drop down into water Vex site. On an off angle probably going to be unchecked
around the pillar.
Oh, not traded by Tux. 1 HP. That's a 99 and 4 moment.
Unfortunate.
Double Ork retained by FlyQuest but Dump
almost makes an unwinnable round. Very winnable!
Nice timing there. Go for that peek from Vexite.
Crazy he lives on one HP, but...
That's the way it be sometimes!
The lovely game we love for CS.
We're getting into Mirage territory though Mac like this.
Yeah good multi frags guys, very close rounds.
Yup, we are still not winning the gun so are we It looks good.
It looked good for him to find Vexite,
but he just doesn't quite beat him this time and it's going to be a two for one trade
here gump almost gets all three there yeah crosshair was good to at least take the fight with
dexter but the trade game keeps it in fly questest's favour and super a long while away,
but still has that bomb to grab
and a minute on the clock to work something into this round.
Yeah...
It's been probably the quietest member of Man Freak so far this series.
He had a good round or two on Mirage, that mid-round was pretty insane.
But there will be a lot to ask of him, to complete a one on three here.
He has some info, knows that Stexa was floating around B
and now he definitely knows
Mutation's gonna come out here for 5-quare
Stexas is gonna pick himself up with Molly
and gonna drop that at the feet of Supa, make it hard for him to
scale into sight here.
Nice rotate coming in, Alistair's all over that.
Easy rotation in there and FlyQuest going to go 6-4 deny that bomb plant.
Just gotta make the purchase
a little weaker for my freaking
3x4 for Tux
3.7 for Pain
so if they do want to buy here
it'll have to be Gal Galils and AKs mixed or I don't mind this
either just a Hero AK, Hero Rifle or two and some pistol's armour is decent as well. I was on the A side. Might be in for a faster one.
Change of base will be welcomed, and these pistols can all be stopped from one Molotov on the belt of Dexter,
but they're just going to go to A main and then hit the brakes.
Hmm...
Still a bit weak from Vexite. Wide enough to see straight.
Dex is here with an underarm flash at the ready off of Inza's contact on secondary ult.
He is making noise.
Contact never comes through, but that does.
Next I will find two, maybe more.
The super follows through with that tech nine and now they're gonna be able to not only retrieve that AK but maybe find a little bit more
But that bomb's gone down over to all his rugs and slimy...
...passed the pretty much do- much do the whole round on his own.
Trying to find another late trade somewhere, trying to figure out where the CTs are playing from. Gonna get the bomb from Ruggs.
And yeah, we'll...
We have a read of two players on A here with that flash coming earlier than the AWP shot.
Yeah.
Double AWP, this would have to be serious
whiffage from FlyQuest here. He has got a flash
to break the angle
Get under terrorists! the angle. Ali
hits those
so it's coming and of course him peeking
close to the corner, and ali much further
away from it makes it an easy pick. So, it was a solid start to the half
on this T side for Mindfree but since then FlyQuest have found everything they need
and more on the CT side as we move into the final round of the half. Yeah, attack timeout for Mindfreak
maybe I don't know the rounds have been close like what do you call a timeout
for to
iron out mid to late round
kind of execution, I mean you can
make some small adjustments but ultimately
that's going to come down mostly to just your fundamentals and
what you're drilling in practice right so i don't know i haven't felt like mine freak have needed
that much tactical adjustment so far.
I do think they've been a little bit loose, pushing smokes and things like that but
That's the underdog factor you know? You gotta take some risks
cut some corners when your playing the number one team
So don't always mind that, to be honest.
But the reality just is
they are up 4-1 and
they are very far away from
that kind of scoreline now
FlyQuest again
been closing xvx's winning a lot of the clutches.
Slimey ready for an aggression.
Great night! Sliming ready for an aggression.
Great nade placement!
Chunks down Dexter, who will be dealing with the flash anyway
The nade goes deep past Sliming
Not ready for such an advanced position, Vexite bowls over Slimey
eventually to touch his there to trade
and if he can find this double then that might be the
B site open for business. He's still got Leas
here lurking, waiting and hoping
to maybe catch a
time of his own
and he's going
to be giving
us the main
control since
Tux is still
real damn
deep at T-spot.
Yeah FlyQuest
have very much
been pushing
every time in
the mid round
in the XVXs
it seems like Mahtrirey is well aware of that
but Tuck's not able to deny
that third aggression from B main
Gum's gonna see if he can go and trade
but Lee has quite switched on to that
cross their placement was perfect and the movement on different elevation levels in CS has always been a little bit whack sometimes
That's a good example of it
It's like an easy shot for Leah as in
impossible shot for Gump to hit there.
Mate, Jesus! Jesus
Low peek into alley, maybe that's what slimy needed to do last round. I don't know how it's happening, but Payne's just bringing
it. Really
showing what he's capable of here in the lower bracket
final.
Him and Supa are just looking to team up and figure out
where these CTs are coming from.
Worried about the flank, but Pain in behind enemy lines
he's in between both of them gets the first and here is the second
Supa watching across the top
The flash might just break up the angles
finds the first pain of worried burning and gets it with a techie for five.
What around to close out the half?
We have a second as well but that's coming up just after the break.... so so so so so so so so I'm not sure if that's the right word, but it is.
It's a bit of an understatement to say that you can't just go and get your own
treasure chest in the middle of nowhere. You have to be really careful with what you're so so so so so so so so Well, they crack a first half for this lower bracket final on Anubis.
But will we get the same thing going down
on the second or is it gonna be FlyQuest
running away with a game here
on the T side?
At the moment I'm pistol.
Looking for late mid control.
Looking like it's gonna be a split
and that flash was way too good
mindfreak not quite ready. I thought Gumb was anti-flash but he
popped up base for us as well. And there is another one right onto Super who
at least playing retake is disrupting this a little bit.
Keeping things a little more interesting but FlyQuest clear the site nonetheless and
it's on the lurk making their lives miserable as well.
A goosh for 7 damage!
That doesn't seem fair. Well, a Goosh for 7 damage. That's the same thing?
Yeah.
Slimey...
Still going for the head even though that Goosh came through and it is 8 on the board
for FlyQuest so mindfreak still struggling to find those rounds. That's BS like if I goose shove one with a USP
I'm gonna go run at him
And try to get to the body shots.
And imagine that, like he's 7 in 1...
...in a head.
I mean, I'm going on about it because that was the most eventful thing to happen that round.
Outside of the beautiful botflash Day made from Alistair.
So here for my freak... the strat is throw a decoy at them and run.
LP main.
Starved! Ready pull this off. Start. Ready for the swings, ooh! Getting tagged right on down but Lea's gonna be able to weather the storm. Plenty of bullets there in a glow to make it happen.
Gump just sitting in the molly to find one on the ins, I thought he was gonna go for
a tea bag, did hit him with the spray! Now he's gotta pray that he can make some distance
between him and Vexart, he knows it's a Mac 10 run at him
He just got that knife out and going
But he's gotta fight at some point
And he won't win that one
NT is in the chat
Nostra gum, but that will be nine up on the scoreboard for FlyQuest.
Walker Lil is kept over. Very good start to T T side for Fly quests.
That's not how my freak has to say about it on the CT side though,
Not easy to get an AWP rolling this early so so Payne's gonna have to start with a rifle
Smoke onto stairs there from mine creek
And now I'm going to little bit in the middle here just
picking out E-box early on and two men set up towards middle on the bridge. Trying to
see if Light Quest makes it early.
Well they do, but Mindfreak weren't ready for it.
Pain I think was setting up for the flash and just times that play completely
Was Dextra
Yeah, saw a bit of leg, saw a bit of shoulder
And that
molly's gonna send him packing
and he'll get back to safety in have a helping hand as well.
To Payne, who is in a very rough position
And he's probably going to get double peeks
We'll see if they're greedy on the Dexter
Okay
At least he had a helping hand not too far away for Lea's able to trade that.
And I'm in advantage now for FlyQuest as they will take the bomb through rugs and probably
just end up hitting A.
Two Fl close here.
Picking for a bit of a pick towards middle,
Gump playing retake A here, Tuck's not going to catch anyone in transition
So he may turn this into a flank
based on gumps infert You can hear the whole exe coming in, so I'm nowhere near the neighbourhood.
The mutual lineups are only on default
so they don't have to worry about it.
And Gump's gonna be able to dominate the back of site.
In tapping with 20 on the clock is going to fall won't be able to get that in time.
This is a nice blood out as mindfreak just stopping any chance of the round and Ali.
It looks good through the smoke but he's not going to be able to connect anymore
And that is six secured. The first gun around going stellar for Mindfreak
Get two likes from FlyQuest there
Gump should really
not be able to get away with that much in heaven
I mean this first kill was good and then
he just, you know V Vex'ed Sight.
I feel like when he plays against a team that's worse than him
loves to just try to go fight the aggro
try to send a message, you know?
And run at them.
Most of the time it works but
That's one of those situations where he gets punished for a little bit.
I wonder if in that specific scenario
He was also pre-aiming like The Gap at Heaven thinking that Gump was gonna run
Like he did in the previous round too.
Well... that Gump was going to run, like he did in the previous round too.
FlyQuest throwing away a 3v4 where they had a site and were setting up a burst tank
after having taken down GoPro with-8 with the bushes flying over
the block. That's so much damage from Mindfreak
but no kills!
Plenty, as well as full CT
control in Mindfreak just like that
are gonna lose so damn much of the map, and probably the round.
With the economy you want them already to be saving but they're thinking about coming in through pal late
They hear a lot of footsteps going
towards CT and Super
might be able to deal with this.
Oh, this could actually work!
The bomb's not planted for him. This is a big
hunt. Walking through the smoke pit again,
risking it but that's just not quite right. That was a nice
180 crossfire either side of the smoke and one of those situations
where you could see maybe it might work, but you're risking
it for the biscuit. It was a big play that they were trying to make. They knew that a
lot of those FlyerQuest members were very low on the entry, after the entry
and it ends up backfiring. They are completely broke
they're going to give FlyQuest not only double digits but
that's a reset round on a silver platter
anti-eco into 11 rounds,
and it's going to take so many gun rounds back
for my freak to be competitive in this game
of maneuvers now.
Left side smoke coming out.
And FlaQuest looking like they are going to keep trying to condition my meat.
E-box smoke there as well, just to deny as much vision of the CTs as possible. Dexter's shooting
a bullet at middle, showing them presence there. I'm going to be able to stand here with the Zeus which shouldn't see too much action.
Remember, the range is shorter now but your movement speed is a little faster.
Oh, the back sight!
And Tux will somehow make his way alive.
Awkward as those shots were missed,
But gets brought back eventually and the B site is once again in the hands of FlyQuest.
Very clean easy anti-ecos plane.
Trying to catch the lurker of Inzett
But I'm not able to do so and not much for Gump to do here really
He is still on from Inz, to be fair but knowing that push was coming. Yeah
Alright Gump, here is the bank for the all should be the first thought they're going to be able to get on the ct side the way paine was playing on the t-side
you wanted to see him have multiple cracks with the AWP at this point though
and-and, this is just MR12 in a nutshell and CS2 economy though right like
you don't win the pistol. It's hard to get that money rolling to be able to get an AWP
And uh... yeah, that's the case here unfortunately.
This will be the first orb they're gonna get and maybe the last if he doesn't make it worth it.
Well, what are we gonna
get out of FlyQuest in round 18?
And more importantly Mindfreak now that they have another buy on the board.
They've got to win two or three gun rounds back-to-back
To break that G money
Even then it'll be like a hard fight
into another gun round, it's very difficult road back into this game for
mine free Wary, that nade gets cracked.
Or the smoke rather gets broken and the chain is going to be able to connect from that shit
awful moment as the CTs run to one another in E-box,
and it's almost lost on the round.
They still have one more player remaining.
Aggression from Gump fully countered
just by that positioning from Inz.
Yeah, I think FlyQuest are really starting to cotton onto some of these pushers by that positioning from inns. In the ground early to mid round catching the rotations perfectly and like I said, you don't think that oh
I mean he did make all worth it. He didn't find a kill for the rest of the team not doing a whole lot
There's another kill on two ends but the bomb is already in practice
for being here and I cast the A execute spin fake.
Yeah.
Looks like Tux was very interested in trying to find this mid individual.
Leaz could get turned here. Flyers on the
wrong position, and
Tuck still cops some damage.
But a winnable opportunity
for Mindfreak now. They do have no kit, but they
have Smokes, Mollies, Flash and HE. There may be a
kit in E-Box or something, but it looks like they know its been a little bit too long
Or do they? know it's been a little bit too long.
Or do they? Very late approach, someone's gotta get on
and someone's got to stop this one
from happening. Dink there!
And Ali will find them both. Nice little spray transfer as FQ finds both.
Yeah, broken money now for Mindfreak's gut-free tail on all the boys.
That's going to be at the end of the game, I mean Payne got there once and he got two
but it still wasn't enough to win that gun round
And FlyQuest
Bigger, faster faster stronger as expected it's
low bracket do or die qualification for pro league they are the best team
in this region and they will not be missing out on an international tournament.
Oh my lord! That is a very unfortunate place to be for pain, but FlyQuest is going to paint it all.
Four tucks go on aggro
and the trade will play as a monster
if we can bring it back to the 3v3, but for how long?
Vexite, I don't want Sl slimy to go for that reload here.
But he's got A flank coming in
and he pulled out U2 at the worst possible moment.
3v1 now as Gump has an XM
to try to make this happen.
Looks like he will go for something with a little more range
in that MP9, and hope that he can find his pick onto
Inns who's actually going for the bomb so he won't be holding on to the flank
for the moment. Yeah...
Walk it up on B main!
Blackbeard's with no contact made on E box or spawn side, they've gotta get a little bit suspicious at some point
where's he coming from smoke no kit that made will punish him a little and smoke. No kit. That nade will
punish him a little, and Dexter
does the last
deed. 13 to
6, 13 to 3
on that one as well. A very dominant performance from FlyQuest,
but we know a lot of those rounds came so damn close.
But FlyQuest will be joining Rooster
on the plane for Malta
for ESL Pro League Season 20
and I'm sure they're all putting out a little sigh of relief for ESL Pro League Season 20.
And I'm sure they're all putting out a little sigh of relief on this lovely Saturday evening.
Yeah, I'm sure they were never that concerned
obviously losing quite a close series
versus Rooster and Obviously losing quite a close series
Versus Rooster
Where they did kind of slap them on one map And then two closed maps that they just can't quite eke out
But here against Mindfree
It's not a tier 2 team In all this! you know they're kind of on the cusp
yeah i think they're definitely turning some heads so like multiple iterations there ross
multiple uh qualifications towards the top four, kind of five status.
And they're showing that
they might not even just be a
top 14. They might be kind of
starting to throw some punches at
BNK, have a go a go rooster those kind of things
you know some good rounds there against fly quest i'm not going to lie to you it
obviously wasn't competitive score lines but um
me and you mac we've watched a lot of domestic CS over
however many years I've
seen most of the time worse
games against FlyQuest there was some promise
there were some good rounds there's definitely some good
individuals on this mindfreak team and they are trying to
play CS the right way, so I'm
just hoping they keep at it bro
It gives me a lot of confidence that
there's going to be some
interesting future for a lot of these teams coming through from the AUNZ scene.
But, of course...
Did I hear we have an interview ready?
No, I think we're looking at Kadir player to watch again.
Kadir player to watch.
Take a look at the stats. Again to watch again. Kadia player to watch, okay. Take a look at the stats.
Again, slimy.
Not quite there for the interview.
Yeah, again, like decent
but you know
at the end of the day
what can you really do?
I think
at least for this Anubis game it was definitely
pain who is a standout who i always picked and uh uh who else played well um gump gump that yeah
when he had a deagle in his hand, he was playing pretty bloody well.
Yeah.
Gump's been good for awhile.
Like Gump's like almost like a Leos 2.0 when I was watching him
anchor some of the sites
a little bit
so look
yeah he had some good rounds
but still
at the end of the day
not going to be enough
for Mindfreak
well look
that's it about
Mindfreak we got someone from FlyQuest to have a chat too and
it sounds like it's going to be the big man Joshua Innes Potter who can bless us with
his presence.
Josh, mate, how are you feeling?
Not too bad, not too bad.
A bit rusty but it's good to get the win against Mindfreak.
Yeah,
it looked a lot cleaner today than yesterday.
But of course maybe Rooster and Mindfreak are going to be on those different levels
of experience but talk to me about this one before we jump into any questions
about yesterday.
How does it feel quickly to know that you are going
to lock in that ESL Pro League slot and go back
to Malta for Season 20?
Obviously we had a good event there previously,
so looking forward to it.
Always good to get more international experience
and we'll have a big boot camp hopefully.
Just praying for no food poisoning this time.
But yeah, now we're looking forward to it.
Any event is good for us.
Lovely.
Yeah sweet!
I just wanted to ask...
I don't think I really like want to ask too much about the games themselves
because, like I was
pretty confident you guys were going to qualify one way or
another. You had some very close maps against Rooster
and one map that you guys won pretty
like one-sidedly in the first maps, so I was impressed by
their resilience. I also just wanted to ask
you what you think about teams like
Rooster and Mindfreak and those kind
of guys at the moment because like I thought
this was the most interesting bracket we've had in a while
Like usually it's pretty cut and dry
You guys will qualify usually first seed
And then it's between Kay or Rooster
to see who's going to take the other slot
But this one went a bit topsy-turvy and I think I've been impressed with
a lot of like the individual play from some of
those players at the moment. So
what do you think about some of the
players up and coming in Osa at the moment? Do you have any
guys you have your eye on?
Yeah, I mean,
I think Rissa
seems like they've changed
the way they play a little bit
since we last played them.
They're looking...
They play a lot
just better in general.
Obviously, you have the Fraragas as well playing well, obviously Nidick is one player who's very talented
You can see that anyone watching or looking at stats
can say that and I think for Mindfreak
I've always thought Slammy
was pretty decent, just from playing with him
Just in terms of comms
and everything like that
But yeah, I think Rooster are way better than they were previously. We were like even
talking about it. I think Chelios has changed the way they structure their game plan a bit
so it's good to see and obviously BNK
are struggling a little bit
so they lost their main
AWPer but I think they'll bounce back as well
Sweet
Yeah, I did notice as well.
Yeah rooster when not only when they were playing you but also when they're playing
B and K the mid round calls were way better than even when we last saw them playing as
well so it's felt like you guys also got caught off guard a few times yesterday
by that similar thing, but now you get a chance at them again,
but you'll have to win three maps and knowing it's the best of five,
Rooster have that map advantage tomorrow in the grand final.
Do you think we're going to see
something spicy? Do you think maybe
some vertigo will finally be played between
you guys or do you think someone's going to get that out of the pool?
Because I noticed you guys went straight for the Dust 2
as the Pema band now that it's sort of swapped out
for Overpass.
Yeah, I mean we haven't really had time
to even play...
Even think about playing Dust 2
And also with the new Vertigo changes
We haven't had a chance either
We've had like one scrim on it
So
I mean
It's going to be interesting
I think we'll have to play it either way
But yeah Maybe there will be some Dust You never know I think we'll have to play it either way.
But yeah, maybe there'll be some dust.
You never know.
It's kind of like... Yeah.
...it's really hard to get excited for this game
because we're both called already
and I'm sure they think the same thing.
But it should be a fun game either way.
You guys used to like Dust
a lot though,
like...
Like...
Oh,
I don't know if you liked
or enjoyed playing the map
but I remember you guys played it
a lot so is that something
you're looking at putting back
into the map pool again in the future?
Yeah, I think we all individually like really liked us
and I know Chris likes to call on it as well
so maybe in the future yeah when we have enough time
I'd be keen to do it. Get dropped
some grenades on A and just throw them at short
every round. My favourite role
Sweet
Lovely. Look, well Inz look, we'll let you go enjoy your Saturday night and get ready for tomorrow
congrats again on the W. Anyone you want to thank quickly before we let you go?
Oh fuck he put me on the spot. Oh shit!
Nah, not really eh?
I'll thank them for you later.
Wait till tomorrow.
Next five questions.
Get your little list ready.
Either way...
Shut up mate.
I'm going to go and get my phone. Wait till tomorrow, get your little list ready.
Either way, shout out FlyQuest one time.
See you later Josh.
In the contract I do not swear during interviews. Well, that's gone by the way.
Nice little interview and a good bit of insight at least from Inza's perspective
onto what's been going down and how rooster have been developing since
ints and fly quest have all been overseas yeah it's nice like it's one thing to like especially
me being so far out of the meta playing the game it's one thing for
me to like look at how rooster plays and feel like
the mid rounds were better and i was saying how good their mid-rounds were in
in the past but yeah it's it's good to see see that you know that's felt
by a team that understands and has
played a lot of high level CS
you know that
they feel like the mid-ranking was pretty good
some good players on the come up as well
so yeah
I think it's like positive things for the scene
positive sentiment and it's just been
a crazy evolution of Ruse style
because they've gone from a team team like a core of a team that back in
the day had like a reputation as just being a pug team that would just like run at you
and constantly just try to contact and hit a site to like playing multiple times overseas
and learning
and evolving
and changing
and now they play
very,
very good CS
and they make some really good reads.
They've always had
good reads
in terms of like
intuitively knowing
when to push or
making clutch plays and things like that
or finding gaps on the map, but I
feel like that's now finally started to transition
a bit more into
where the macro of the round finally started to transition a bit more into like the
macro of the round and playing off
each other in the chemistry a bit better.
Yeah, it certainly has
if they're also locking in
a better mental game because we know
that there has been a couple of individuals with
some rage issues through time. You know, that's definitely been a bit of a
problem I've heard that some individuals on the
team might get a little bit angry when things
aren't listened to and maybe even mutant teamspeak but look maturity is a huge factor and it's great
to see that everyone's grown up here in os here in OCE. And playing better, goddamn Counter-Strike
because that's what we're all here for is to watch good Counter-Strike,
solid strategy and just real close games.
Even if the scoreline is not close,
it was still an entertaining one between fly
quest and mind freak good to see that some of the up-and-comers are really
looking good with some more experience but that
is going to be it for oceania we have a bit of a break before we jump into the
lower bracket final for Asia. Hang around
if you want to see that also go get some dinner it's a perfect time for that but thank you for
joining us and we'll see you tomorrow for the OSU Grand Final. See you then. I don't see that. so uh so so so Get under terrorist. so so so Thanks for watching! you You can also use the so so so so so so so so so so so Thank you. so Thanks for watching! so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so.
