[00:37:51] Welcome to another night of the NA ESL Challenger League here. We are close to the end. We're close to the finish here. We are close to the goal, which is the ESL pro league and of course
[00:37:59] championship title here in this challenger league itself.

[00:38:05] This is JITrt and tonight we
[00:38:07] got a match up here the lower bracket final between party astronauts and nouns only one
[00:38:12] of these teams will be able to continue their dream we're in the top four here John oh
[00:38:20] yeah I was gonna say no surprises with my mic unmuted
[00:38:24] up here at the top um party astronauts and nouns along with wild card and m80 i
[00:38:31] mean those are some fantastic teams in the regular season and we're going to
[00:38:35] get party astronauts announced tonight as you said and honestly it's going to be a very close
[00:38:41] tightly contested affair because both these teams feel like they're doing quite well
[00:38:45] as of late especially the party astronauts. They've really kind of embraced
[00:38:50] Fang as a part of that
[00:38:51] roster and he's contributed in such a
[00:38:53] significant way. And it's surprising
[00:38:55] honestly considering this is a team that every time
[00:38:57] they seem to find stability, they get a player yoinked.
[00:39:00] Perhaps best typified by what we saw with Rush getting poked from this roster
[00:39:03] over two nouns.
[00:39:05] Take a look at the bracket to see the journey these two teams have been on
[00:39:08] because it's been very similar for them um but uh yeah i mean this is
[00:39:12] a party astronaut scheme that's constantly dealing with players shifting in and out that made changes
[00:39:16] as well not just bringing infinite to replace rush, but also bringing in Feng and cutting Chop.
[00:39:23] Opting to make further moves.
[00:39:26] And I mean at least so far it does seem like it's rewarded them.
[00:39:29] I know that Feng in particular probably enjoyed that victory
[00:39:32] over his old team
[00:39:32] with NRG last night.
[00:39:34] I think he tweeted
[00:39:34] something to the
[00:39:35] effect, so they're
[00:39:38] on a bit of a tear
[00:39:38] and this is a PA
[00:39:40] squad that could
[00:39:40] definitely upset
[00:39:41] the Apple cart.
[00:39:42] You wouldn't probably have had them pinned as a top four team maybe going into this.
[00:39:47] They would have been one of the teams that'd be more likely to get knocked off early,
[00:39:50] but they've done anything but.
[00:39:53] No, I agree.
[00:39:55] I had them out to be quite honest.
[00:39:56] I didn't think that they were going to make it through especially the way they were playing. Since they picked up Fang
[00:39:59] it was more of the same
[00:40:01] in a lot of the BO3s they played until recently where
[00:40:04] they started to do quite well for themselves. And against NRG, you're right
[00:40:08] like the first thing I thought there was like wow Feng must be really good
[00:40:12] They dropped him in favor of picking up automatic and he can go
[00:40:14] and get that revenge.
[00:40:15] Not once,
[00:40:16] but twice.
[00:40:16] They played them twice in two days and to owe them both times.
[00:40:19] So,
[00:40:20] I mean,
[00:40:20] that's got to feel amazing for him as the party astronauts are the ones
[00:40:23] moving on and watching NRG fall by
[00:40:25] the wayside. On the Nouns
[00:40:27] side, they kind of did the same thing, played
[00:40:29] Elevate twice in two days
[00:40:31] basically, and they defeated them
[00:40:33] pretty handily under both canes. i would say maybe not as much in the
[00:40:36] challenger league matchup it went to three maps but you know earlier today two to nothing on a
[00:40:41] nuken agent so each team is kind of faring well for themselves. In the past,
[00:40:47] I would say Nouns have probably
[00:40:48] had a little more success than PA
[00:40:51] leading up to this point. They were kind of a team
[00:40:53] I did anticipate finishing in the Final
[00:40:55] Four. So yeah. So, yeah.
[00:40:57] Yeah I think that's fair
[00:40:59] to build but this Nouns roster
[00:41:01] I think we both are maybe a little disappointed
[00:41:03] by some of their previous outings here
[00:41:05] in the playoffs. Let's take a look at the matchup that we've got here.
[00:41:07] I mean, they had a tough road, right?
[00:41:08] They had tough opponents.
[00:41:10] They had tough options but came in a little limp
[00:41:15] in some of their games particularly against M80
[00:41:19] and then struggling as well against NRG and Elevate going
[00:41:21] three map series against both of those.
[00:41:23] It hasn't exactly been the most
[00:41:25] rosy for a non-roster that we do have
[00:41:27] high expectations for.
[00:41:30] I kind of agree with that it's just that they were getting
[00:41:31] beaten on the maps that they
[00:41:33] usually do get beaten on and Inferno
[00:41:36] in particular in those NRG matchups
[00:41:37] and you know NRG kept picking up but they couldn't beat them on any
[00:41:40] other map, so they went for a reverse sweep
[00:41:42] against NRG twice and then
[00:41:44] against Elevate, surprisingly actually ancient
[00:41:46] ended up being a loss.
[00:41:48] The reverse sweep came through again. Nuke new and mirage both dominant wins on those
[00:41:52] last two maps and that seems to be a trend that's building with nouns you know they lose
[00:41:56] that first map maybe their opponents get a false sense of confidence and they come out
[00:41:59] and just absolutely destroy them on the next two maps.
[00:42:02] The first win actually in four BO3s that wasn't
[00:42:05] a 2-1 for Nounz was against Elevate today,
[00:42:08] um...a 2 to nothing victory So maybe they're on the path
[00:42:12] to actually finding that stride earlier
[00:42:14] in the series rather than requiring
[00:42:16] three maps to get to the finish line.
[00:42:18] But I mean, I agree with you Mike.
[00:42:19] There obviously have been some struggles for them and adaptations being
[00:42:23] made, I guess since Rush was added to the roster
[00:42:24] There's a lot of rosters in fact that have
[00:42:27] one new player that's coming in North
[00:42:29] America and two of them are playing here tonight
[00:42:31] Of course with Rush like we just talked about on Bounce and Fang as we mentioned earlier.
[00:42:35] Yeah! Fang and Infinite as well right?
[00:42:37] Yeah!
[00:42:38] Definitely lots of changes in the air people getting a jump start on shuffle season here.
[00:42:45] It is interesting, though, that we have this consistent issue for now of starting slow into BO3 series.
[00:42:50] It doesn't really seem to matter what the map order is sometimes.
[00:42:53] You just consistently have
[00:42:55] these slower starts to spool
[00:42:57] up into real form,
[00:42:58] and you do wonder what's causing that, right? Today
[00:43:01] they've been playing already today, so maybe that
[00:43:03] won't be an issue. Maybe that won't be a concern,
[00:43:05] maybe this is a team that likes a warm-up match for their BO3 but
[00:43:09] it is an interesting trend that we've noted and one to certainly keep an eye
[00:43:13] on depending on what we get in this veto, depending on who starts
[00:43:16] out with the pick.
[00:43:18] It'll be curious to see which
[00:43:20] of these teams will actually be able to come out of the gate
[00:43:22] and be strong. Party Astronauts? Okay, we're going to
[00:43:24] get the veto. We'll talk about this first.
[00:43:25] Ban Vertigo makes sense for PA.
[00:43:27] Ban Anubis.
[00:43:28] For Nouns, pick for Inferno.
[00:43:30] This is absolutely what you need to do against Nouns.
[00:43:32] Inferno is their weakest map.
[00:43:34] They've seen it multiple times.
[00:43:36] You know?
[00:43:37] At least Party Astronauts have seen it multiple times you know um at least party astronaut's seen them multiple times where now has been beaten there
[00:43:39] you got to go to it makes sense and then picking mirage for yeah
[00:43:43] mirage pronounce it's their best map even though they've lost it two out of
[00:43:45] the last three it hasn't't been that tour de force
[00:43:48] that we've seen in the past for nouns,
[00:43:50] but I still think it's a solid pick for them.
[00:43:52] And then Ancient Decider.
[00:43:53] This is more of a standard Veto Mike coming through
[00:43:55] than we saw yesterday
[00:43:57] where Wildcard tried to go crazy
[00:43:59] up against M80.
[00:44:01] Sometimes, we're going to get these standard vetoes
[00:44:03] and it makes sense in this case.
[00:44:05] Yeah, it does. It makes a lot of sense, certainly.
[00:44:07] Mirage is going to be interesting.
[00:44:09] Now I'm a team that loves Mirage.
[00:44:11] They love to get confident on there
[00:44:13] but didn't necessarily have the best
[00:44:15] of showings in the upper bracket
[00:44:16] so we're going to look to them
[00:44:18] to get more comfortable
[00:44:20] than they were against M80, right?
[00:44:22] And a big part of that hinges on the mid-aggression
[00:44:24] especially on their CT side. That's what
[00:44:26] we're going to be looking at. That's kind of where
[00:44:27] the barometer is of what Nantz is able to do.
[00:44:31] And I think if PA have been
[00:44:33] smart, they looked at that M80 game. They looked at some
[00:44:35] of the ways that the M80 players neutralize them
[00:44:37] and they're saying might have some
[00:44:39] ideas for how to make this Mirage a little more successful
[00:44:41] this time around.
[00:44:42] Ancient as it decides is interesting, as well.
[00:44:44] I think this is going to be a fun one.
[00:44:45] This feels like the 30-map series.
[00:44:46] This feels like we're going to go the distance
[00:44:48] and get to figure this out on ancient.
[00:44:50] No, it really does. And, I i mean it's hard to predict which of
[00:44:53] these teams is going to have the advantage mike and i guess i'll jump into my pick right now
[00:44:58] honestly because i think it's to go the way of nouns.
[00:45:04] It was a very difficult decision for me to make because I was looking at both teams
[00:45:06] and seeing their trajectories,
[00:45:07] and I'm saying, man,
[00:45:07] I like the way PA is playing
[00:45:09] and I like the way nouns are playing as of late,
[00:45:12] but aside from a few hiccups here and there
[00:45:14] but definitely for me it's going to be nouns and on the pa side the reason
[00:45:18] i didn't pick the party astronauts because i watched their exolos laser match the other day
[00:45:22] and they looked rough against a team
[00:45:24] that they should be beating pretty cleanly
[00:45:26] pretty much every single time
[00:45:27] they face off against them.
[00:45:29] So maybe there was
[00:45:30] a little bit of overconfidence there,
[00:45:31] but I still think
[00:45:32] there's that shakiness on the pa side
[00:45:34] that nouns could potentially exploit here in this series mike
[00:45:37] i'm going the other way i'm picking the party astronauts and uh
[00:45:40] i think they've got the hot hand at the right time they've already beat nouns
[00:45:43] once today over in another qualifier so i'm just
[00:45:47] saying I think the trend's gonna continue here. I think they're riding the hot hand you know what
[00:45:51] didn't even realize it this wasn't even planned but I'm wearing my prediction on my chest here.
[00:45:57] I'm feeling the PA victory.
[00:45:59] We see this often in the ECL playoffs that one team gets hot at exactly
[00:46:03] the right moment and they're going to carry that momentum potentially
[00:46:07] into a pro league spot, if not into the consolidation
[00:46:08] final. So I'm
[00:46:10] going PA. Okay.
[00:46:12] It was a B01 mic earlier today. It was not a
[00:46:15] BO3. So I understand the confidence though.
[00:46:18] I get it, I get it.
[00:46:19] You know PA's been looking good for me
[00:46:21] It's like 55-45 in favor of nouns
[00:46:23] It's very close and I hope we get
[00:46:25] a series that delivers on what the stats and
[00:46:28] everything else is telling us about these two
[00:46:30] teams, because sometimes you just end up with one
[00:46:32] that's going to be a blowout. And that is certainly
[00:46:34] what I hope won't happen here tonight, because these
[00:46:36] two teams should be evenly matched up.
[00:46:39] Yeah, we'll find out if they are our Kadea player to watch for this one is
[00:46:41] a guy who's got history with both rosters
[00:46:43] that's going to be Mr. CXZI
[00:46:45] himself he's been on a tear
[00:46:47] lately the stats have been jumping up the board and it's cool to
[00:46:50] see, right? Because of various iterations within this team he'd kind of almost taken
[00:46:53] a step back in towards more supportive roles giving space that's just not the way you want
[00:46:57] to see 60 play this dude can rip, we all know he can rip heads,
[00:47:01] We all know the ability that he's got and it feels like
[00:47:03] He is getting comfortable flexing that again
[00:47:05] Getting a renewed sense of confidence
[00:47:07] And up against his old teammates
[00:47:08] Look I'm just saying they're picking in the mirage.
[00:47:10] That's 60 turf.
[00:47:12] It really is
[00:47:13] and I mean look talking more about 60
[00:47:15] in terms of stats
[00:47:15] he's got second place in the team
[00:47:17] over the last month with 324 frags
[00:47:20] and first in damage
[00:47:21] He's always a fantastic damage dealer at 85.7 ADR number one in three kill plus rounds at 25 4ks
[00:47:28] The reason I bring up to be killed bus runs because he's a clutch player
[00:47:30] He gets really streaky, and then he can start dominating matches so significantly that you wonder, oh my God, what's going to stop him?
[00:47:37] And the last time we saw that was up against NRG on Nuke where where I went to triple or quadruple overtime
[00:47:43] when they played them. It was
[00:47:45] insane. He almost got 50 frags.
[00:47:47] I think he ended up with 49 at the end
[00:47:49] of it. Just couldn't get across that finish line.
[00:47:50] They ended up losing the map, but still,
[00:47:53] it was 60 that was keeping them in it round after round and
[00:47:55] that's the type of effect he can have and that's why
[00:47:57] he's the player to watch.
[00:47:59] That's why he is indeed a lot to keep an eye
[00:48:01] on him. We'll be keeping an eye on both teams when

[00:55:29] don't chase a frag that you don't need to. And instead Carson not

[00:55:34] as well. It's actually really good shot from Carson by the way

[00:55:38] so he quickly rotates around. He was all the way over
[00:55:40] at the B site but he's able to close that ground very rapidly because of the call out from Carson. So one to nothing in favor of nouns. I mean they've been on Inferno a lot lately. Yes, they've been on the losing end

[00:55:57] the party astronauts because they've got so
[00:55:59] many reps on this map eventually

[00:59:44] basis is something that certainly the party astronauts need from him,
[00:59:47] especially with the AWP.

[00:59:59] approach from the party astronauts.
