takes.
I feel like that game has a highly vitriolic community
is a great example of a game where the developers should just
hit the game they want to make and stop listening to the community.

There's certainly, and what you're talking about
is the balance that every dev has to make
when they're trying to cater to a large community
and they're also trying to design
about something interesting.
Now, I will say this, in the case of Arc Raiders,
you can't really use that argument too much.
I mean, if you look at the trial system on release,
that system was fundamentally flawed.
The map rotation system fundamentally flawed.
There's a lot of things about it
that are just not well designed.
There's also a lot of technical issues
and things of that nature.
So I think there are times when developers need
to listen to the community
because what they've made is literally not good.
It's not good.
It does not do what they're trying to do.
It does not function.
That's not an art thing.
That's a like a you need to do better feedback kind of thing.
But when it comes to like the major decisions of a game,
the core stuff, the core scope, what is important?
What needs to be static
and what needs to be changed to to placate the player base?
It doesn't matter how good a game is
if nobody wants to play it.
especially a live service game essentially like arc there they're put
they they sell skins they need people to play their game.
So there's there's a middle ground that every developer in their position
has to decide exactly where they fall.
And but I do not I do not think that that every game is a situation of
just let the devs do what they want.

said about. I totally agree that the trial system isn't fun and I think most people agree. But some
of their other decisions, like their implementation of ABMM, seems like it's just thrown in to make
the game more accessible. But accessibility isn't a good metric for how fun a game is.
It felt like they wanted to cater to a mixed PvPvE audience, but ABMM has bifurcated and
segregated the game's audience into two dominant play styles, removing the unpredictability that
made the game so special at launch. Now what I'm gonna say to you next is a perfect example of
of a counter to your argument. Because Lottie McFly I not only agree with you, but the feedback
that needs to go to the devs and the changes they absolutely should make is making it so
with the ABMM, there's never a case where a round is like more than 70% friendly.

One of the reasons I stopped playing ARC is because they made the decision to make ABMM
too weighted.
By the fifth round of me not having anyone fire at me, I realized I don't have a threat
anymore.
The thing that made me love ARC in the first place was the unpredictability.
It was knowing that some people were friendly and some weren't.
their ABMM matchmaking system is not designed very well when it comes down to it. It's all or
nothing. You're either in a friendly round with everyone, basically PvE, or you're in a PvP round.
That's like, that's what you get to an extreme. Now, of course, you can do things like play the
system and have an aggressive round and then throw off the whole thing. But again, that's a design
So it's I don't I think that that I love first of all not only do I love the start do I love the ABMM system I think the ABMM system is incredible I love it I think it could be so much better if they fine tune it and I also think it's one of the reasons the game got popular.

knowing someone's in a building, saying, are you friendly and not hearing any reply?
But it got to the point where everyone replied they were friendly. Everyone did.
And so I just stopped shouting. I stopped asking. Instead, it was just like, oh, guy behind you,
You got on your left, you're on your right, and, and, and again, that, that it ruined
it, that, you know, again, the fit, the fifth or sixth round of that.
And I'm just like, uh, so, but I think, again, I'm not saying it's not a good idea.
I love ABM.
It's just, it just needs, again, it needs feedback from the player base.

feedback to, from the player base to the devs to be like, keep working on this, keep
